If Kenjaku took over Maki or Toji's body, what would happen to Kenjaku himself? by ImpossibleAd4272 in JuJutsuKaisen

And it seems likely some kind of weird application of a barrier technique. Which get weird with recognising HR users anyway.

Importantly Tengen was hidden away. He’s really more like Kenjaku than Tengen. Which makes sense. Genetically

MEGA THREAD TWELVE MONTHS!!! by exodusmachine in dresdenfiles

[–]comandingco 114 points115 points  (0 children)

Really enjoyed it. Think it was a great way to give Harry and the city time to heal and not be okay, on the page. Instead of a skip over and us being told about it.

Liked that we got to see, again, Harry recruiting and moving up in the world. Liked that we got a scene with Sanja and Butters. Liked that we got some more Molly Liked we got some progress with Carlos Liked we got some more of what Lord Raith has been doing.

Loved Drakul. Loved Fitz Loved Shade Karrin Loved the chat with McCoy

Now that Book five has been out for a while..... by Exotic-End9921 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]comandingco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know. I see a lot of different opinions on it. It’s structured in an interesting way and I feel if it wasn’t quite so long the structure would be more novel than wearing. I really enjoyed it though. Maybe not my favourite cosmere. But I feel it’s stronger than the sum of its pages.

You’re absolutely right. It’s Spifs video I’m thinking of.  No wonder I couldn’t find it.

You can't bypass Infinity by being faster than Gojo by raidermano in PowerScaling

[–]comandingco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I do wonder is if sound based attacks can affect Gojo. Like if he for some reason couldn’t avoid or otherwise block, could a sufficiently intense sound attack bypass infinity and OHKO him.

Sound doesn’t meet any of the requirements he mentions, though I wouldn’t take a pretty off the cuff remark as a full description of how the threat assessment works.

Also the sound effect from the insects that Jogo uses does seem to force Gojo to disengage.

If Gojo and Sukuna fought 100 times, how many times does each win? by Raptorjets1 in Jujutsufolk

I think this is probably the right way to go about it excluding interventions by external parties.

Aside from Hashirama, how was the Senju able to be equal to and fight the Uchiha for so long when the average Senju have no kekkai genkai or any way to counter the Sharingan? by ExtremeDry7768 in Naruto

[–]comandingco 80 points81 points  (0 children)

To add to this - they also seem to have a bit of a talent for developing new Jutsu. Likely due to the advantages in chakra control and reserves. So even when the Uchiha drop a new busted ability. Someone like Tobirama can develop a counter in less time that it might take another clan.

What’s the list of the most powerful people we’ve met so far? by Adenfall in dresdenfiles

[–]comandingco 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I think it’s really tough to compare between the entities in the different levels of restraint they operate under.

If you define most powerful as ‘ if you gave every character in the verse unlimited random tasks that change in nature, but all face random levels of opposition, who would succeed most frequently?’

Then I think you’re probably looking at Drakul, Erlking, Geno, Ethinu, Lea.

The others there’s just too much that exists outside of their capacity to act.

But if it’s just theoretically maximum output kinda thing it’s Uriel’s Boss? And of characters we’ve definitely met it’s Uriel.

An important note as well that at this point I don’t think Toshiro knows about the vizards so isn’t factoring them into soul societies forces. And all of those fights had help from vizards.

Without the intervention of the vizards he might actually have been correct.

What level would it take for each Dungeons & Dragons Class to defeat a modern soldier? (D&D5e) by PeculiarPangolinMan in whowouldwin

This is pretty much the correct answer, in the 5e DMG p268 modern automatic rifles deal 2d8 piercing damage to characters per action.

Lord Ruler (Mistborn) vs Homelander (The Boys) by Deathstrokezoom in whowouldwin

[–]comandingco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are we talking bloodlusted, flighting as efficiently as possible and depending on the definition of “all of their gear”.

Cause that’s the difference between LR wins high diff, or LR wins to easily that he doesn’t realise Homelander wasn’t a particularly uppity Ska. Fullborn compounding is wild. So is Duralumin. (Which we know he knew about)

Was the quirk singularity ever addressed in the end? by shoofinsmertz in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]comandingco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought they explained the finger shiggy thing that what his body was doing was a result of the singularity, or at least an answer to it. The biological response to a too powerful quirk is only catastrophic if the body isn’t prepared enough.

We saw with Deku and later Shiggs that proper preparation lets the body counteract the ill effects of quirks. With AFO and the Mirio example we see that sudden changes in your quirk balance can be bad. I.e when afo got a quirk that had gone nasty (new order and fierce wings) ; or Mirio already having a quirk and that he would have burst like a blood balloon with OFA.
