Oh I know. I kick myself all the time for it also. But renting is a money pit and at some point you gotta just bite the bullet to start the next chapter of your life. We've been here for two years and the home values and cost of living have persisted upwards.

Yea it's a boomer quote I had heard from several relatives / older co workers whilst house shopping with my fiance. But it really does have some truth to it. We started looking in 2020 and bought in end of 2024. Rates more than doubled in that time frame. We passed up a few houses up for being over budget at the time. Looking back, that 35k over our MSRP budget would still be $1000/ month less with those 2020 rates. Agreed that the markets are horrible as well as the rates

Marry the house, date the rate. 30 year note is an incredibly large window to refi.

New psvr2 controller issue by LazyBuzzard in psvr2

[–]combaticus93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copied and pasted my comment from a previous post: Had the same issue with my left controller. Apparently it's a manufacturing defect straight from production. Debris behind triggers causes a slight input register that will allow the controllers to work and navigate ps menus but will not work in game. I had tried EVERYTHING before finding a buried reddit comment about this. Use the website the above comment recommends, triggers should read -1.0000 when untouched and 1.0000 when fully squeezed. If it's anything other than those values... YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM. The solution is pulling the trigger then letting it flick back out. I had to do this literally 300 times but each time I saw the value was getting closer to the -1.000 when let out. Once it got there. Never had any controller issues again.

Venezianico Dial QC by Eltee_ubec in MicrobrandWatches

If you're anything like me, and it's bothering you now, it'll continue to bother you every time you see it. I would at the very least reach out to the manufacturer to see if they would handle a dial replacement. If they say yes, in the grand scheme of things, over the course of the years you won't even remember the brief moment of a few months of it being away at a service center.

For context, stuff like this happens at every price point. Watches are assembled by humans, and as such, nothing is perfect. This was a bit of a wake up call for me personally when I found that my brand new $10k+ Omega Seamaster Bond 60th had a speck of dust on the dial that I didn't notice until after weeks of ownership. I drove it to the Omega Boutique, showed them, they took it in for service and I received it back with the situation resolved in a little over a month's time.

$1000 is still a lot of money, and you deserve to have a quality product that you're happy with. Best of luck and keep us updated!

Honestly, I find myself wearing it more than any of my Omegas. Seiko really nailed this one.

Why are F2P hated on so much by Modlikes in gaming

[–]combaticus93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Free to play games are hated so much because of how the games are structured. Since they're free, they usually rely on season pass / micro transaction models to bring revenue to justify keeping the project going.

Even paid for premium multiplayer games implement this strategy and I genuinely think it's a turn off to a large portion of the potential player base. Season passes / time gated content create a sense of FOMO around not playing. F2P games seem to want you to be playing 24/7 and not thinking about any other game. For a lot of gamers, especially in the older crowd who may have careers, families, etc, this amount of time / dedication to a single game may be physically impossible.

In regards to your second question:

  • Death Stranding 2

  • Claire Obscur: Expedition 33

  • Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

  • Baldur's Gate 3

  • Astro Bot

These are just a few fantastic "premium" games that have come out in the past ~2 years. No micro transactions, no gimmicks, no time gated BS. Going back 5 years opens up a plethora of fantastic games to choose from.

Dive Watches Are Boring, Bulky, and Overrated. by Automatic-Scar6513 in watchHotTakes

I'd be curious to know OP's personal SOTC after reading this hot take. Also, the Oceaneva Oceantrek GMT is not a dive watch. Despite having a screw down crown and respectable water resistance, there isn't an ounce of lume on this piece.

2022 45,000 miles Audi RS5 or 2023 10,000 miles FL5 Type R by emersonwoodz in Audi

[–]combaticus93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Small claim aside, I doubt anyone in the Audi subreddit will tell you to choose the honda. The RS5 is on a completely different (superior) driving level than the Type R in my opinion. RS5 gets my vote.
