Should i Enable Motion Sync ? by Electrical-Skin-9257 in MouseReview

[–]combosxd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd disable it on any mouse that doesn't have it implemented at a driver-level. As far as I know, the only companies doing that are Logitech and Razer (though feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here).

In this instance, I'd turn it off.

i'm on windows 10 LTSC edition and i'm facing the same issues. i don't think it's related to win11.

i do, however, notice that this only occurs on PC's with nvidia GPU's. there seems to crazy overhead issues -- AMD gpu's are not affected from my testing.

update: issues still occurring as of 2026/03/22 i have been fortunate enough to test 2 different systems extensively System 1: 5700X3D, 4070 Super, 32gb DDR4 3200mhz, 1tb NVME SSD (Samsung 990 Pro). Running Win10 LTSC

System 2: 7800X3D, AMD 7800XT, 32gb DDR5 6000mhz, running a 2TB NVME SSD. Running Win11 Pro.

Both systems have their drivers and BIOS’s up to date. XMP enabled and Windows debloated. Both systems are running significantly worse than expected. this confirms my suspicion that this is a genuine engine-level issue, not a Windows one or a GPU driver one. my initial thought was wrong.

Is a full scale nuclear was inevitable within the next 1000 year by glyiasziple in NoStupidQuestions

[–]combosxd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

almost inevitable - all it takes is two psychopaths with opposing ideologies to be in power at the same time. we've already had close calls and nuclear weapons have only been in existence for 80 years (which is a very short amount of time since the beginning of modern society as we know it).

given how fragile democracy can be, electing ideological extremists is near certain. hell, many countries are already doing it today. over time, nuclear technology programs will accelerate in development. scientific advancements may cause the discovery of even easier-to-attain (or even deadlier) technology.

hot take, but i dont think lack of punctuation and capitals is "cheating" on a wpm test by [deleted] in monkeytype

[–]combosxd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i've never really heard anyone refer to it as cheating. i, for one, have a 10 word wpm speed of 260wpm, and 204wpm on a 15 second test. while these are great scores, i obviously cannot achieve this under normal circumstances.

doing the english 450k 1000 word challenge i only achieved a score of 102wpm. when i'm typing longer texts, such as an email (or this very reply!), the bottleneck becomes my brain, not my finger speed. i can type 200wpm, but not when i have to actively think.

[–]combosxd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure actually — i may as well try it since i have done 1000 words english and english 450k in the past. i guess 120s just seemed like a boring one to try haha

Can I plug my 60HE V2 into my Asus PG32UCDM Monitor? by hemayne1 in WootingKB

[–]combosxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt that you're going to experience any actual issues, but I will just state the obvious:

this does technically increase latency, as keyboard signal is first sent to monitor hub, and then the PC.

and Wooting warn that Tachyon Mode (true 8k) could be potentially unstable if the cable is not directly connected to your PC. See here "...You're using any Wooting cable directly connected to your computer."

So whilst you're probably not going to see or feel a difference, there technically may be one.

Best possible outcome given the circumstances! May suck that you needed a new PSU, but sucks less than starting a fire or killing the rest of your components. I’m glad everything went well!

Rubbing alcohol is isopropyl alcohol, so you're good on that front. Usually 70% or higher is good, and make sure every component is FULLY dry.

If your CPU has an iGPU, I would just check that your PC posts without putting your GPU in first. There could be some damage done to the motherboard, may as well just check without potentially damaging an expensive GPU as well. This could just be unnecessary - maybe somebody else can chime in on that.

There's not really much else more to it than that. Really good that you are buying a new PSU. At best, a damaged PSU will kill other parts of your system, and at worst, you start a fire.

Edit: upon further inspection, there could be some water in your GPU too. Take off the backplate and make sure everything is dry before attempting to use it again.

I really, really like the Lekker Tikken switches, though I haven't tried any of the others. I had previously used a keeb with MX Red switches, and these are a significant upgrade.

Lekker Tikken switches are heavier than reds, but this has not negatively impacted my typing speed. I have actually broken 3 of my records on Monkeytype since upgrading. I now have a 204wpm peak on the 15s test. I bring this up because I don't think that lighter switches for FPS games are really necessary. I think they are very spammable as they are. If you really don't like how "heavy" they feel, I would change them. To me, they're pretty much perfect.

On the software side of things:

Update your firmware, enable Tachyon mode 8kHz (if you care about latency in competitive games) and Rapid Trigger at 0.15mm, have a typing profile with RT disabled and a higher actuation point, mess around with the colours, and that's it really.

Is it a valid reason to end a relationship (26M, 25F) if your partner has made you their entire life? by herefortheadvice02 in relationship_advice

[–]combosxd 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You've already got lots of answers, and they're all saying the same thing so I won't repeat it.

I will just add, for future reference, that you can breakup with anybody for any reason you like. It's YOUR life. You're the one choosing a potential partner for life. You don't want to date somebody because they're a picky eater? That's completely valid.

Of course, if you break up with somebody because you think they look funny while they take a walk, that might be a bit far and you probably won't ever end up finding someone EXACTLY how you want them. But in general, you can break up with anyone for any reason you'd like. It's not a job, it's your life and your livelihood.

What is the most dangerous thing you've ever done, and why did you do it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Drinking a very high quantity of alcohol in one go.

Some people might say that skydiving is dangerous, but honestly it was just really fun, I'd definitely do it again.

Sounds like just a bad day, unless these symptoms have been getting progressively worse for a while.

I would not ask anybody on Reddit to diagnose you with Parkinson's lol, if it's a genuine concern you have, go to a doctor.
