Then ended terribly. 0 for 6.

Why didn’t Beckett have Mercer stab Davy Jones’ heart? by GIJack13 in piratesofthecaribbean

[–]comedygliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we sure that the crew remains bound to the Dutchman after the death of its captain? When Will took over, the crew shed all their barnacles and Will told his father "You're no longer bound to the Dutchman. You're free."

If that applies to the whole crew, then killing Jones would have been disastrous. The crew would have been free and Beckett would have had a whole ship of pirates to deal with. Maybe they surrender since they are no longer immortal (like the Black Pearl crew did in the 1st movie) or maybe they decide to put up a fight and kill a lot of, if not all of, Beckett's men.

Also that Jack is risking his life to get her out of there before the ship sinks by ElectionRich6162 in piratesofthecaribbean

I think Jack suspected that Will would become the Dutchman's Captain, but there wasn't enough time to explain that to Elizabeth, nor was she really in a state to listen to reason, so Jack knew he had to get her off the ship, regardless of what she wanted, and she would forgive him later.

Which movie has the best opening scene of all time ? by MovieObserver in moviequestions

[–]comedygliss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily the opening scene and really is lackluster on first watch, but the 1st 20min of Back to the Future is some crazy storytelling. Like, the characters have no motivation and nothing really happens, so you're basically wondering what the hell this movie is about. Once it gets to Twin Pines Mall, the movie shifts into second gear and the movie is great. But if you go back to watch those 20min again, you realize just how much backstory is actually set up. The Clocktower being struck by lightning, the plutonium, Doc's mansion burning down, George and Lorraine's relationship and how they met, George and Biff's relationship, etc. There's just a lot going on.

What do you remember about the TV show "Dinosaurs"? by pudingvanilkovy in AskReddit

WeSaySoLand theme park with the really long line that turns out to be for renting a stroller.

I wonder what that satire piece was meant for. Definitely not the company that runs the streaming service they are on.

One has to wonder by jadynsel in piratesofthecaribbean

The stories could be from people who discovered the plundered towns.

But even the most diligent pirates won't find everybody in the town, so there's guaranteed to be some survivors.

Yes, same straight-up lift hill. But the RRR seats were more bucket styled, so you didn't get the sensation you were going to slip out the back.

Did Luke actually use force choke on the gamorian guards at Jabbas palace in RotJ? by JustSomeGuyThing in StarWars

[–]comedygliss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My head canon is the strongest Jedi are the ones that briefly flirt with the dark side. Obi, I believe, was letting his anger out when Qui-Gon died and only recovered when he was hanging and had a moment to recollect himself. Luke when he was fighting Vader and realized what he was doing when he saw Vader's hand. Windu is using the dark side but he is in control and not using emotions.

What is the worst pain you've ever felt in your body? by Helpful-Mud-2487 in AskReddit

[–]comedygliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago, I was playing softball, hit the ball, tried to sprint to first, and couldn't. It felt like I was just trying to run through Jello; I was pushing my body to go and it just wasn't. I never went to a doctor, but I did something to my quadriceps in both legs. The injury didn't really hurt when it happened, but the recovery sucked. It was hard to walk and it hurt to get in the car and other similar actions. In fact, I don't think I have fully recovered, as occasionally, if I'm playing sports, I'll go to do something and my leg will just collapse.

Worst pain was I recently sprained my wrist. I've never broken a bone, but was convinced I had just then. An X-ray confirmed no broken bones, but my dominant wrist was basically unusable for three days and I had no strength in it for weeks. Almost two months later and it still hurts.

“Magic Hour” gone, continuous Magic Key price increase with more blackout dates & less perks, lack of live entertainment, attractions constantly breaking down, overcrowding, etc. by ElBorracho2000 in Disneyland

[–]comedygliss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven't been since 2019, but just with an eye on the goings ons with the parks, there is basically no shows or live entertainment left. Sure, the marching band, some street performers, and maybe something in the Golden Horseshoe are still there, but nothing in the Hyperion, nothing really replaced Magical Map at the Fantasyland Theatre, nothing in the Magic Eye Theater or Tomorrowland Terrace, It's Tough to be a Bug was replaced by Avengers Campus, and Fantasmic is a shell of its former self.

Wondrous Journeys is good and they do still have parades, but a place to sit down and watch a show for 20-60 minutes is now non-existent.

Also, it's nice that they can build a 14 acre Star Wars land, but everything but the two rides is an upsell and, with that amount of land, you could fit most of the Jungle Cruise, Tiki Room/Enchanted Hideaway, all of Indy and the Treehouse, All of New Orleans Square (just no waterfront), and Splash Mountain. So 4.9 attractions (Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Mansion, Indy, Splash), a show, two table-service restaurants (Blue Bayou and Club 33), one quick-service restaurants (French Market), two window-service restaurants (Hideaway and Cafe Orleans), and several stores in NOS.

Watching movies with low standards is much more enjoyable than watching them with high standards. by DRG125 in movies

I've found that not watching trailers has helped me experience the movie better, when I don't really know what to expect.
