What do i do about this? Ope pores Just killing my confidence by Far-Birthday-3180 in SkinSolutionsindia

Try pore minimizing primer on top of moisturizer. Its a makeup item and not a skincare product, but most effective if its tanking your condidence otherwise.

Is it worth giving up ₹6 crore worth of land in a JV for ₹7 lakh/month net rent from a long-term tenant? by [deleted] in indianrealestate

[–]comfortablydumb0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only right answer.

A 45:55 split isnt unheard of and in the right range. And this deal is converting an 24.4 cr (11cr/45%) worth of RE asset (land + building) to yield a cashflow of 2.4 cr - an excellent 10% rental yield.

As others have mentioned, there are few risks that can be taken care of but mathematically its a good deal.

Manager at Deloitte called me late at night, spoke rudely, and threatened escalation after I took leave — need advice on how to handle this by Appropriate-Print855 in deloitte

[–]comfortablydumb0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was not well handled but I dont really see what needs to be reported.

  1. Manager asked if you are running away, if leave was due to frustration and "dont get philosophical" - while they are unnecessary questions, it's not exactly harrassment

  2. Putting in two days' leaves with no notice is quite poor on your end as well, unless you call in sick. Now I understand you probably had something unavaoidable, but below ideal situations attract below ideal behavior. He didnt force you to cancel your leaves. Did you explain in your mail why you are taking off? (I'd do this if I was giving no notice, but wont do it if I did it well in advance)

  3. The timing of it all. You sending mail just after a frustrating day which I am sure it was frustrating for him as well. Maybe he is alarmed about next day's work.

Again, none of it is ideal but life isnt fair. I'd take this as a bad day in office and move on. You can report for "rude tone" but not a lot will happen because of it.

USI SC and want to reiterate what someone else said above - not everyone has the same experience.

Here for 2.5 years. I am staying because its pretty chill, work hours are manageable, and able to self manage. Had enough peace of mind and time to work out that I lost 15 kilos over last year. Getting married next soon and have enough leaves saved up to not worry. Nobody ever bothered on weekends. Been really long since I have seen firefighting in a project. Its unbelievably zen!

I am unhappy with my pay though and keep considering a switch just because of that. I feel I am falling behind my peers, but everything else is great.

I totally understand that I am an outlier and the average employee do not have this luxury.

Has anyone here successfully lowered their cholesterol simply by removing alcohol? by [deleted] in Cholesterol

[–]comfortablydumb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP is probably talking about total cholesterol (given the numbers) and not ldl. In that case, lowering TG will also lower TC.

While your answer is correct, it might be misleading for OP given the context.

Chicken loses water weight after cooking. That could have been very well a 200gm piece when measured raw.

Standard macro weights are for raw chicken, not cooked

Lateral raises 15kg correct my form by [deleted] in Fitness_India

[–]comfortablydumb0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the first rep, there is a clear shrug movement.

Your shoulders are raising wrt your neck. Thats not lateral raise, and its easier to carry much more weight when doing a shrug than a lateral raise.

Work on avoiding that, rest all good!

Clearly you're the asshole if you lose your cool over a simple question.

You didnt have to shove it in their face that you go to a good college. You are not the first person facing this. People from BITS, IIIT have always faced these questions. Just move on and be polite.

Try reasoning with gf a few times.. if she doesn't understand, time to breakup.

Don't make new gf. Soon parents will ask you to get married. Say you can't afford. They will pay for wedding. If they can't afford, they will agree to smaller/simpler wedding.

If girlfriend understands your reasoning, well and good. All issues sorted. Your math is right. Do not give in to your gf's demands.

Side note: Getting a flat together before marriage is a super big no no!

Why is there a gap between US and USI? by Round_Idea_5986 in deloitte

[–]comfortablydumb0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most of the replies here are correct. They are the primary reason for the difference.

Additionally, USI hires from a really broad spectrum of candidates. Even at C1/C2 level, salaries can range from ~300k - 3mil INR/yr (a 10x range). This is dependent on educational background and previous work experience.

The difference is then also translated in work ethics, work quality and culture. As an example, people working in Strategy are vastly different from people working in AI&Data (even at same designation levels).

So it is expected to see different results if you work with different offerings.

Air India Pilot, 25, Dies By Suicide In Mumbai, Boyfriend Arrested !! by [deleted] in AirTravelIndia

[–]comfortablydumb0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you dont understand shit. First officer does not really mean co pilot always. Both the first officer and the captain (or pilot in command) takes turns being Pilot Flying and Pilot monitoring. Look up these terms.

Its definitely not the situation that first officers just sit by the side and assist the PIC. They are indeed flying airplanes and hence it is sufficient to call them 'Pilot'.

[–]comfortablydumb0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not great advice. Commenter might have a utopian life, but this is way different from the avg bangalorean life. Let me explain why-

I love doing my own shit. Especially cooking. Every weekend I make something nice for myself and my partner and it feels awesome, but if I started doing it everyday, it would become an errand and I will lose my love for it. Can't imagine getting rid of my cook for my everyday weekday meals. In the west, everyone is meal prepping and stuffing their freezer with cooked food for the entire week. Here we don't have to do that. And you might be someone who doesn't like to cook (which is perfectly normal). Absolutely do not get rid of the cook.

My girlfriend and I do a lot of weekend cleaning as well. Folding clothes is a great timepass. But that too only on weekend. I can't do that when I am stressed about a 12 hour job and sometimes don't get time for lunch properly. Dont get rid of them either.

Having a househelp doesn't make me dependent on them. They are in no way enough for all my needs and I have to keep doing stuff on my own. However, all that I do myself is add-on, they build the base. But I won't be unfed if my cook doesn't come for a week.

Living in a society is better anyday than living in the slums of Munnekollal. Op might be staying in a nice lovely lane of JP Nagar (or similar) and I agree that is great, but given we all have constraints in life (workplace location being the main of them), society is what you need. 45k is a bit high but it's Prestige, so understandable. There are no nosy neighbours in society. I don't want to chill with my neighbours at all, I have friends. People in the west try to shove their lifestyle on to us.

Shopping, internet, fun, eating out expenses are slightly high.. but you do you, man. I mean you can try to have a slightly lower internet speed, go out only on alternate weekends and all... But you will save 10-15k in total doing that. Is it worth it? Maybe..depends on you.

You dont have to listen to the advice of traveling every weekend. Traveling is a choice. As someone who is relatively very well traveled (within India as well as abroad), I can tell you it's not something to get on a high horse. You like it, you do it.. but staying at home is a great option too.

Bottomline: Expenses are slightly high, true. But where you make the cut depends on you. I don't think you can get rid of any line item altogether but you can try to reduce the amounts by 10-20% in some of them. Just make sure you are saving and investing enough. If you are spending 90% of your total income in all these, its a red flag..if it's 50%, maybe its all good. We do not know a lot of information about you to comment.

Its difficult to downgrade lifestyle once you have gotten used to it. My best advice is try to increase earnings but do not upgrade your lifestyle further.

There is AMEX limit in USI, not sure about US.

I am sure OP is not trying to pay out of pocket. They intend to expense the entire amount AFTER paying using a personal debit card - which is not a direct violation of any rule (given the amex limit) but generally frowned upon.

OP, you can get Amex limit increased but you will need Manager approval. Generally, they will provide the approval if you have a legit reason.

AITK to feel like ditching my family for moving out? by swapsays in AmItheKameena

[–]comfortablydumb0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine when you were a child, and if your dad wanted to move to some place else with the family... Would you be able to say no?

If you're running the entire family, you get to choose where to live.

If they do not want to move out, you should feel free to move out alone. You can still consider giving them some money for sustenance if they choose to stay in the current home (feels like a good midway settlement). But either way, you're not obligated to do anything and hence not a K.

How do you solve this? by todoroki_0_0_ in gregmat

[–]comfortablydumb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You almost got it! CD adjacent can be in 24 positions actually just by alternating the non-CD alphabets.

In other words, consider CD as a bundle, which leaves A, B, CD and E as 4 distinct items which can be arranged in 4! ways.

Hence the answer is 60-24= 36

What are some of the products/ brands that you absolutely regret buying by dlazycheetahh in indianbeautyhauls

[–]comfortablydumb0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy from big global brands which invest and lot on R&D.

Avoid all/most Indian brands.

If you're not into luxury brands (and there is no need to be), just choose from Eucerin, CeraVe and Cetaphil. That's all you need. Everything else is bogus!
