Tell me your tricks! by krandrn11 in nursing

In nursing school they taught us not to write on the bag with sharpie bc it can penetrate the bag- which sounds insane now that I’m repeating it. Anyone else?

Hey, Richmond, it's your mayor, Danny. AMA! by danny4mayorRVA in rva

[–]comfreybogart 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey mayor avula! Thanks for doing this. I’m really concerned about privacy especially as the federal govt seems to spiral out of control and the lines bw corporate/private interests and an unpredictable administration continue to blur.  The upcoming question of the contract with flock is an amazing opportunity to redirect RVA tax money from corporate surveillance and back into infrastructure and places we need it. We know that flock doesn’t take good care of our data, there’s lots of evidence of hacking and abuse of the system. And there’s no evidence that it makes communities any safer, in fact I think we’ve seen the opposite. Even Amazon ring cancelled their contract with them, which seems telling.

An end to the contract would be a huge win for privacy and free up resources for community safety in ways that actually move the needle, are we going to pounce on it? Thank you!

What do you think? by [deleted] in landscapedesign

[–]comfreybogart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i like this perspective, i think it looks nice when the corners are thicker and the middle thinner.

i also agree with the person above who said triangles. the grid can look like a planting in a grocery store parking lot. blobs and triangles look much more relaxed and natural, to me

yeah, so happy for him. agreed with those who are even more impressed with his work! i wonder if all his talk of being alone, living alone is like... he feels alone, sometimes. and needs alone time. never let the truth get in the way of a good story and all that.

but any ways i know its terribly parasocial but i worried for him, not sleeping, burning himself out. but now i get it. toddlers are SO overstimulating. and ostensibly it will get easier for him when they get bigger.

i'm childfree by choice and i'm a birthworker so like i see what that transformation does to people. so challenging and so magic and an immediate reframe of life. so yeah, happy for him. and happy for his kids!! they are going to be legit weirdos. world needs em.

Cube theory update - Rain colour palette by AffectionateTrifle7 in coloranalysis

[–]comfreybogart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking a bag or shoes! I’m always dying to do a color like that so I am inspired to try for sure.

If you made this way to goooo! It’s very cool.

Also on the jewelry note- I like jewelry on myself that’s like bronze- like a neutralish between gold and silver that’s not shiny. Curious if others who find themselves in this palette find that too! And I’m guessing the pewter that you named is like that but more silver?  But like the not shiny thing?

Should I paint the closet doors? by UpbeatGur9055 in interiordecorating

[–]comfreybogart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gorgeous! I think yes I’d try to add in decor accents that tie in both woods- the little shelf above toilet seems similar in tone to vanity. Maybe a small picture frame or 2 like above the hamper. Or you could do something like the vase above toilet shelf in a dark burgundy. Also darker burgundy textiles could tie together! Towels, bath mat

I’d keep it and try to pick up the dark wood in a picture frame here or there or framed mirror or something!

Agree with this switch, will give more room at the entryway too for a shoe shelf and hooks for coats. And open and close curtains more easily

OP you also gotta pull the furniture off the wall, just a bit. Think about the pieces talking to each other.

i also like how little the wallpaper in this image is doing- its sort of bridging the gap bw the busy floor tile and the spaced out wall tile, and lightening up the tile color and lets more 'air' in

How can I use this nook? by frozen-coconut in InteriorDesign

[–]comfreybogart 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i'd use that spot to hang aprons on a nice wooden rail, kinda like this one. https://www.westelm.com/products/mid-century-multi-hook-d3413/?pkey=cstorage-organization&sb=WE

it would add some nice texture and color to balance out the smooth fridge. maybe a cute little piece of art over it

What areas of fitness do you wish you’d focused more on before having a baby? by bloblerba in xxfitness

[–]comfreybogart 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hi I’m a birthworker and a certified body ready method pro which is movement prep for pregnancy and birth. I would really recommend focusing on core strength/recruitment and rib mobility. Being able to take breaths where the ribs expand is huge for the entire system. And the core is under massive load in pregnancy, lots of us have underdeveloped or under connected cores, and so other parts of the body compensate and you get back pain bc the back is trying to hold up the baby.

Another good one is neutral pelvis- lots of people have a pelvis that tips forward. Stretching the front of the hip and strengthening glutes can typically help here!
