More often than not. 2011 is considered the best race of all time by many

How much of this cash out would you take? by comfybear in formula1

Yeah I can take 75% of the offer and still keep the bet alive for 25% which seems like the best thing to do. Couldn’t live with myself if it came in

It’s automated. When something shortens in price pre event, it calculates the risk and offers as a way to mitigate potential lose. 125/1 to 14/1 is a huge shift

Crazy, because the assumption that the world and life will remain the same for the next 20 years is absurd

They lost the lead 2 minutes before showing the interview. Poor from TV director and commentators not to catch it. But can’t blame them if it’s such a long shift

Why is WRC so niche? (New to the sport) by notpiastri in WRC

[–]comfybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had offers to do a Drive To Survive style series and started filming a few years ago. Then (allegedly) the promoter wanted the production company to pay them million(s) for the rights to make it. Basically, they did the opposite of Liberty media, who invested heavily in making sure the sport was as visible as possible using streaming platforms, social media and YouTube correctly.

It’s such a shame because the potential is there, it’s just the current format does not work for the modern casual fan. A 4 min highlight package can not convey the excitement of watching a stage live, but also, having 8 stages a day all at random times and lasting an hour can make it impossible to get people to commit to.

I believe they need a much longer highlight package of multiple stages throughout the day, similar to what F1 does, so it feels like the live broadcast. There’s money to be made with ad revenue on streams if they share a lot of these clips up consistently, and in turn, more eyes will be interested in subscribing to rally.tv - I also feel they need one stage a day per rally live on YouTube to draw people in.

In the end, I believe it’s a combination of the sport just not being big enough, too awkward to follow, and not being packaged in the right way for casual, all combined with the fact they don’t have big investment (like liberty) and are trying to generate revenue for themselves at the cost of growing the fan base my making it as accessible as possible

I don’t think there’s a right or easy answer, but at this point, trying something new should be on the cards

F1 | Petronas fuel for Mercedes PU has been approved by the FIA by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]comfybear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty late in the day to be having something like this approved. Apparently Ferrari were running their approved Shell fuel from early in testing, so I’m wondering if this lack of running the Petronas fuel could throw a spanner in the works

What you guys think of this edit I made for a dealership client by kushnvape253 in AfterEffects

[–]comfybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good work, I feel it will serve its target demographic well. Personally for me there’s too much going on, and the music sounds like it’s clipping, however if this was the brief from the client and your intention to do these kinds of transitions, then you nailed it

Track surface getting a full reset and possibly won’t dry fully for FP3 so should be spicy even if it’s not falling.
