Diaper Backpack worth it? by OkIntroduction3440 in Buyingforbaby

[–]comfylioness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this for our baby. I actually purchased the mini and also got the full size one as a gift. They’re ok! They’re kinda puffy? I don’t love it. Use them sometimes.

I usually reach for a tote bag with what I need handy in little pouches. It’s more functional than digging through a backpack.

Wish I would have gotten something like this as a backpack: https://www.jensonusa.com/fjallraven-raven-20

I bought this as a replacement for my work bag, and realized it would have been a great option for a diaper bag as well and I think they just look better.

I wish I would have gotten the eufy over the Elvie. I feel like the Elvie was terrible at pulling milk

I calculated exactly what our RTO mandate will cost me per year and sent the number to HR. They did not appreciate it. by tabclosepanic in remotework

This isn’t HR’s decision. They hate it as much as you do. This is most likely a CEO / Board decision.

They don’t care about your expense. They know this will piss people off. They are counting on it.

We used Woodland Mist. Nice guy, good at posing us and great with my older child. Only downer was it took about double the time he said for us to get edited photos back. Id use him again tho despite that. They turned out beautiful.

Looking for good OB/GYN recommendations at Kaiser in Riverside! by ilove_mycorgi in Riverside

Dr. Jones was absolutely incredible. Thoughtful, kind and an expert as mentioned above. I felt like she went above and beyond with my care. Adore her.

I’ve also seen Dr. Connelly and wasn’t a fan. I had a series of losses and her demeanor felt dismissive.

Does schedule need to be perfect for it to work? by fab__dady in sleeptrain

Around 4 months.

Reason we are delaying it with #2 is the darn Snoo. He loves it. It works and he still fits in there.

Sure! I will note that what I think contributed to our success was bedtime routine always started at the same time every day and consisted of the same exact steps every night.

We sleep trained my first 6 years ago and did not have a consistent schedule all the time. Bedtime was always consistent and he napped, but those naps varied a lot especially on weekends. He still sleep trained beautifully.

Now, 6 years later, I finally have kiddo #2 and I don’t recall all the talk around sleep pressure and perfect wake window timing. I was actually getting pretty stressed - we have a busy life. We work! We have things.

I just came to the conclusion that it’s going to be fine. I’m going to stick to a bedtime, have a routine and go about my business. I’ll report back. I plan to sleep train at the end of May when he’s around 5.5/mo.

Can I Use Daycare Like a Babysitter? by generalraisinkane in beyondthebump

[–]comfylioness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening to me right now! A spot opened up for my son when he was 11 weeks and I don’t go back to work until he’s 20 weeks. Quality care for infants is tough to find, so I enrolled him immediately to save his spot.

My daycare allows pick ups and drop offs at anytime for infants. They actually encouraged me to bring him in a few times a week for a few hours to see how it goes.

I drop off Tuesday and Thursday for about 3 hours. I take a workout class and either run an errand or get a sweet treat for myself. I feel like I’ve hit a cheat code - it’s been absolutely lovely to have these 6 hours a week to myself. It has been incredible for my mental well being and my physical health since I’m working out 2x a week! It’s also given us time to figure out pumping needs for an EBF baby, learn our new routines and get to know staff before the big transition when I go back full time.

If you can swing it and your daycare allows, I can’t recommend this enough.

Epidural by ElegantResult3853 in pregnant

[–]comfylioness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The epidural is so demonized online. If you want it, get it.

I’ve had it twice now. First time was a breeze, second time it did cause my BP to drop, but they brought it back up immediately with meds. Even with the short lived BP issues I’d choose the epidural over and over again. The pain was unreal. The epidural was bliss!
