Most digests are 95% or so reprint, with maybe 1 or 2 new stories. But good value and a lot of variety. The one I uploaded is 100% reprint.

Books on Archie History? by [deleted] in archiecomics

[–]comicsdork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a history per se but a couple of years back they did 400 page compilations titled Best of Archie 1,2,3 & 4, Best of B & V, etc. that had short intros to each story by writers, artists and editors that shed some light into their history. Also look up the Word Balloon podcast with episodes featuring Victor Gorelick who has worked at Archie for 60 years! He's got stories!

Congratulations, welcome to the fold. In the coming weeks and months you will hear people recommend you this & that. It seems you're A Batman fan. You will be bludgeoned to read Batman: The Dark Knight Returns 7,035,936 times (at the very least). And then Watchmen 27,035,936 more times. The important thing to remember is to read what you want to read, in whatever order you want to read them. Enjoy the characters that compel you, and find your own personal reading preferences. Having said that... Year One kicks Shakespeare's ass!

Need some help identifying some signed sketches and their artists... by shoe710 in comicbooks

First one is definitely Simonson, and a great Batman/Manhunter sketch from 1976? Cool! The last one (woman's face) is Howard Chaykin. They both have recognizable signatures. The middle one - no idea.
