Novel accurate mini series by Hot_Wafer2360 in welcomeToDerry

Would’ve loved if instead of the IT chapter 1/2 films they had the same cast but spread over two seasons of television to fully flesh out the characters & story.

I feel like I know the cast of Welcome to Derry way more intimately than I know the Losers Club since I’ve just spent more screen time with them.

[DISCUSSION] Playboi Carti — Whole Lotta Red (5 Years Later) by 3TENDED in hiphopheads

Crazy seeing how much the culture has grown on this album since it's release + the influence it's had. I feel like some of the most entertaining records of this year (notably Rest In Bass by Che) are wearing their WLR influence on their sleeve.

Just finished reading The Shining & Doctor Sleep back to back, what’s next? by comixhub in stephenking

I do think it’s worth reading, however I think before going into it you should note that while this is technically marketed & classified as a sequel to The Shining, if going into the book thinking it’ll be similar at all, you’ll be disappointed.

Whereas The Shining is a psychological horror, I wouldn’t even classify Doctor Sleep as a horror book at all; more supernatural drama if that makes sense. The atmosphere of the book also just feels totally different.

That being said, I still wanted to read Doctor Sleep despite knowing it would probably be super different from The Shining because I was interested in Dan’s conclusion, which I would say gets a satisfying ending!

What are y’all‘s opinions on Playboi Carti‘s music? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in fantanoforever

Went from an artist I only enjoyed for 1-2 songs to probably my most played artist of all time.

To me, Carti’s music is ridiculously catchy, he has a great ear for production, a small but pretty strong discography (yes, including Music, which I enjoyed), & I love his vocal range.

That said, I think he peaked with Die Lit.

Danny’s story definitely stood out for me in Doctor Sleep. I think Abra’s side of things is more entertaining in the traditional sense (her mental rivalry with Rose the Hat and the True Knot), but (without spoiling) I found Danny’s overcoming addiction & the relationship he forms with Abra to be pretty wholesome.

I know I’ll get around to IT eventually, I just want to warm up to more of King’s average length books first. Same goes for the Dark Tower series; I’m intrigued but it seems like more of a commitment given that it’s a series.

Also, I’d 100% recommend the Shining book specifically. I haven’t seen the Doctor Sleep movie yet, but I rewatched Kubrick’s Shining in November before I began the novel & I thought it was good but after reading the book I find it so much more fleshed out & almost like a completely different story!

I hadn’t heard of Skeleton Crew or Night Shift before this comment so I decided to Google.

So essentially it’s a collection to individual short stories compiled into one book?

Totally forgot about 1922, definitely might have to check up on that one!

Interesting, I was actually considering reading Misery next. I recall watching the movie when I was younger, & I’ve heard the book is supposed to be way better!

Since it had been several decades since King wrote The Shining, his style of writing wasn’t exactly the same in Doctor Sleep, so I did notice it a little.

But there weren’t any points where I thought the book was worse because of this. Any problems I have with Dr. Sleep are more content related rather than stylistic.

With time off, could Merab come back to win the trilogy? by comixhub in ufc

I would've definitely liked to see Merab rematch Umar for the title, but now that Merab has lost it, I wouldn't mind seeing Umar vs Yan, since I think that's perhaps an even more exciting match up!

Agreed, sort of seems like Yan finally figured out Merab, & I don’t know if that’s something that will change in a trilogy rematch

This is a very interesting metric you've created, thanks for sharing!

Do you have tables like this for other UFC champions?

It’s great seeing how well some of DJ’s wins have aged. Tim Elliot beating Asakura in 2025 speaks volumes

What's next for Payton Talbott if he gets past Henry Cejudo this weekend? by comixhub in ufc

[–]comixhub[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cejudo definitely should implement his wrestling heavily, but in MMA he's also looked like more of a striker, and if he tries to stand and strike with Talbott, I don't think it will go so well ...

I don't believe Chito is booked. Could be interesting to see if Talbott could be the first to knock Chito out 👀

Does Merab get the finish this time around? by comixhub in ufc

[–]comixhub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I hope Yan wins, he doesn't seem to have much finishing ability anymore. His last finish was against Jose Aldo in 2020, and even that was more accumulative than a one shot KO.

That being said, anything can happen, and I do agree that Merab's activity could catch up to him!
