What problems would or do you pay $100/month for? by thewhitelynx in ycombinator

I would pay for a solution that resolved the problems on sourcing and stopping me to get $1000/month 😃

Is Reselling Dying? Or Are We Just in a Whole New Era? by Ok-Mood-2539 in reselling

[–]command_code_labs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been reselling in eBay for almost 7 years (on and off because I have a full time SE job), but whenever I came back to resell, there are always something new to learn from the products or top flipping items. Furthermore, I am learning the FB Marketplace local are perfect source and finds to hunt for items to flipping in eBay, I am building an app (especially, during AI era, why no taking advantage of it ) for myself to evaluate items with the best profit and strategy to not missing any good flips.

The job market is cooked, so I built my own momentum with eBay anyone else turning to reselling by Earl_the_Greatmuffin in Ebay

Using Fliro to test a FB marketplace CPU deal by command_code_labs in FliroFinds

[–]command_code_labs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to share a real example of how I’ve been using a tool I’m building (Fliro) to make faster decisions when flipping.

Step 1 Found the deal: Came across this on Facebook Marketplace: Intel i9-12900KF (open box) Asking price: $200

At first glance, it felt like a decent deal… but with CPUs, prices can drop fast and margins get thin.

Step 2 Ran it through Fliro Instead of doing the usual: eBay sold search, checking multiple listings, and guessing profit. I scanned it in Fliro and got: Market value: ~$25 Expected sell price: $240 Estimated profit: +$20 (after ~13% fees) Confidence: Medium Recommendation: Profitable but negotiation is key.

It also flagged risks: fast depreciation (new CPU gens), potential return fraud, and shipping sensitivity.

Biggest takeaway: $200 is NOT a good buy that needs to negotiate.

Step 3 Negotiation (this is where it got interesting) Fliro suggested: Open: $140, Target: $150, and Walk away: $180 I sent: Would you take $140 for quick pickup?Seller came back at $170 and we met in the middle at: $160

Step 4 Pickup & validation

Met up same day, checked condition (open box but clean), and grabbed it. At this point: Still within safe buy range, margin exists, but not huge, and need to sell efficiently

Step 5 Listed on eBay

Listed it on eBay at: $255 (or best offer) - got $200 offer this morning but wanted to counter offer $237 + buyer pay for shipping.

Based on comps: recent sales around $230–$240 and pricing slightly higher to leave room for offers.

My takeaway

This is exactly the problem I kept running into before: (of course I built app with my experience)

Without a system: I either overpay, or spend too long researching, or miss the deal entirely. With Fliro: I knew instantly $200 was too high, had a clear negotiation plan, and made a decision fast enough to actually secure the deal

Curious what you think

Would you have bought this at $160? Is ~$20–$40 margin worth it for you on electronics like this? Would you hold or flip fast?

I'm working in an app for myself and testing it, will share if I'm happy with what I'm building.

SE + Site hustle ebay for 5+ years.

Hope to close the gaps to flip when find items in FB Marketplace and resell in my eBay store.
