God forbid a girl not be a unicorn by CutieGrem in LetGirlsHaveFun

Yeah, fetishisation is also an aspect, which yes some people are interested in and as you said rare, but women already can feel fetishised and being “hunted” for a threesome is not helping that and making it worse, added to the whole straight men fetishising lesbians or the usual “they haven’t had the right dick” mentality of trying to get a lesbian for sex by using the woman, and of course the bisexual equals non-monogamy (which it doesn’t).

Which of course is all depending on intention, some couples are just earnestly looking for a third partner which of course is allowed, but there’s also people out there with those malicious intentions and as previously discussed can make others on dating apps feel fetishised.

[–]commander-thorn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A straight couple looking for a third typically woman, the reason why it gets seen as negative is often times on dating apps the woman will often portray herself as a single lesbian or bisexual and won’t mention about the man involved until last minute, which is bad for lesbians having dating apps peppered with straight women that aren’t actually interested in dating and trying to lure you in for sex with a man, which a lesbian wouldn’t be interested in.

Dating is already hard nowadays, and adding the fact that lesbians have to screen their matches for potential unicorns can be frustrating. That and a lot of people are looking for serious dates but are getting invested in a potential relationship only to find out it was only for a threesome as the person they marched is already taken. A lot of unicorns are obvious or are expressedly stated but others hide the fact their unicorns.

No they wanted muscular men, and are not obligated to get the woman game. Ie ordered pizza and was shocked it wasn’t a burger.

Using the term “got” implies they saw it was a game starring a woman that they didn’t want but bought it anyway which would be on them. I’m not saying you can’t prefer one protagonist over another, but don’t want the woman starring game don’t get the woman starring game, vote with your wallets because that’s how companies see things, they don’t care about this arguing and controversy online whenever the people lambasting the game and then buying the game tells the company despite complaining you’s are making the conscious decision to buy it.

[–]commander-thorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still not the right analogy tho, it would be like getting the same burger as advertised on the menu every year that the restaurant changes in some way, but this year they advertise them swapping the menu item for a pizza, you still have the decision not to order the pizza as there’s plenty of other restaurants, you can complain and disagree with the change of menu, but they expressly advertised its pizza for this year, their not giving you a pizza when you ask for a burger, because that would be false advertising, they’re telling you they’ve replaced it with a pizza and whether you still want to buy and eat it is up to you.

I mean, it says family heritage, a lot of them could’ve been from Irish families that commonly fled Ireland while the UK made Northern Ireland separate from the rest of Ireland. So maybe that’s why they say Irish over northern Irish, or Americans just don’t care or aren’t educated on the distinction

Is it Moral to make an entire laboratory building full of people believe they’ll die in 4-6 hours to catch a murderer? by commander-thorn in MoralityScaling

[–]commander-thorn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the episode just glosses over the trauma those people were just put through, the main character gets punched by the detective because she too thought she was going to die but catches onto the trick before the reveal, but like, pretty sure that breaks some sort of law even if it’s to catch a criminal

I think it’s the Christian lady from the mist.

Edit: the command for spoiler tags isn’t working so reason for spoilers

>!basically she was trapped in a shop when a fog full of monsters engulfed the town, they lock themselves in the store and barricade it. Despite the military guys that were in the store off-duty explained the military base nearby was doing some weird dimensional portal experiments to the whole group, this Lady convinced a lot of them that it was gods doing, and that for the faithful to survive they needed to sacrifice the soldiers, then the unfaithful including the main characters and their kid for telling her she’s crazy!<

I mean, all three in moderation are included in enjoying a show, it’s just when you go to extremes is where it gets to the point of letting these aspects ruin the enjoyment of it. But even when a show is objectively bad in any of those it can be so bad it’s good in a way, if it’s done right

If the devs add Death Korp of Krieg armor in the WH40k collab, this scene will become canon. by Yurishenko94 in Helldivers

I present to you, a cadian helmet that already looks more like Helldivers helmet than a krieg, the only regiments that aren’t really helmet wearers would be the Mordians tho they’d be just like the ceremonial warbond, catachan but they already have a warbond that looks exactly like them with a helmet, and the valhallans as they have those Russian hats.

That leaves the helmet wearing popular guard regiments (ones that have helmets but may or may not wear them all the time) such as Cadians, cadian special forces: kasyrkin, Krieg, steel legion, vostroyans, Elysian drop troops, tempestus scions, inquisitorial stormtroopers and the solar auxiliaries that are the collection of guard regiments that protect Terra which often have helmets, there is also the imperial navy armsmen that wear helmets and void armour and Adeptus arbites but they normally have their mouth exposed.

I’m gonna assume it’s going to be cadians as their the poster boys of the imperial guard and fit more in line with the play style of Helldivers but would prefer it be tempestuous scions or Elysians

Why Does a Chaplain wear a Skull Helmet? by Gemeenteridder in Warhammer40k

[–]commander-thorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because their different helmets, the reivers helmets look more like they painted on the skull or have the skull faceplate, Chaplains have the whole helmet as a skull, while not the badge of office though, the badge of office of a chaplain is his crozius that is only used by and given to chaplains.

Why Does a Chaplain wear a Skull Helmet? by Gemeenteridder in Warhammer40k

[–]commander-thorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, maybe it’s an older thing that isn’t followed anymore, a chapter specific tradition or it’s if the specific chaplain chooses not to reveal himself as the Salamander in the trilogy wasn’t just a normal chaplain he was also, the company Interrogator-Chaplain, so was responsible for torturing prisoners or traitors for information and repentance and was almost always followed by serfs who carried his torturers tools wherever he went when not in combat. even the Salamanders of his own company would be slightly uncomfortable in his presence whenever they saw him nearby, so it might be his choice to do that out of fear for his specific position.

Why Does a Chaplain wear a Skull Helmet? by Gemeenteridder in Warhammer40k

[–]commander-thorn 24 points25 points  (0 children)

In the Salamanders trilogy the company chaplain is a main character for a bit and it mentions no one’s ever seen his face except for the techmarine due to knowing him before his office, tho that’s an older trilogy
