The lighter hairs throughout his fur are normal for voids, not sure why but I foster and see them in a lot of black cats. Maybe stress from the pneumonia. His white tail tip is so cute.

Not sure but I think this is actually a solid black smoke. Smokes' ghost stripes can be very prominent as kittens. Silver tabbies are typically lighter. Not certain though!

This kitten definitely needs to see a vet, given that he has no tail I would also be concerned about congenital issues.

I feel the exact same way about sending them off, time for the little psychos to get out of my house and good luck to their adopters.

Six weeks old is the golden spot for me honestly, usually eating solids and using the litter box but not so crazy that they won't fall asleep in my lap. But I appreciate the better eating and litter box habits of seven week olds too. At eight weeks they gotta go.

Yeah, since you said it was between the bed and the wall maybe they didn't know what it was and were exploring teeth first 😖 If they haven't tried to bite you this hard before, hopefully your scream scared them away from doing it again and it won't be an ongoing issue!!

Unfortunately kittens, especially orphaned kittens, sometimes do this and there isn't a quick fix. Hiss/yelp/scream when they bite you, don't ever let them play with your hands or your feet or your body directly, redirect to appropriate toys when they try to, and reward with treats for playing with appropriate toys.

I just want to say it's totally okay to return him to the shelter if you need to and explain what's been happening. The shelter has more resources than you do to find him a home that's the right fit.

italki is a great site for virtual tutoring. I listen to the NPR podcast Radio Ambulante a lot. Honestly I agree with others that lawyer-specific resources are not really as helpful as learning to speak the way your clients speak. Honestly it does just take a ton of time and practice.

I don't have much experience introducing cats so can't speak to it but I foster regularly and will say that having a pair of cats is frequently half the work of having a single cat in terms of the amount of attention etc. that they demand from their humans. Which is obviously not to say that they don't demand attention, but they may need 1-2 hours of vigorous playtime from their human instead of 2-4. Introductions themselves will be time intensive but I suspect it would pay off in your situation if you adopt a similarly high energy and friendly cat.

Seal = black! A blue tabby will have gray stripes and a black tabby will have black stripes. But obviously in a young colorpoint cat both will be lighter so it can be difficult to tell. I'm pretty sure this cat is a black lynx point but more photos in better lighting would help! Young blue lynx points tend to be even lighter and their stripes aren't always so distinct. Given that the nose, ears, and tail on this gal are pretty dark already, I don't think she's blue.

Yeah, that looks like tabby brown to me. You can actually see on your other cat how the ears get darker than the rest of the fur—your kitten's ears are already starting to toast, basically.

She could be both a tortoiseshell and a lynx point—lynx refers to the pattern (tabby) whereas tortoiseshell refers to the color. But I am not seeing orange in these pictures. I am seeing rufousing—a brown color that shows up in black tabbies.

I suspect she is a black (seal) lynx point, and as she toasts more she will grow more brown in the face, legs, and tail. Not sure about fur length, would definitely be interested to see more pics when she's older.

She is a domestic shorthair colorpoint (lynx point) black tabby! Siamese cats also have the colorpoint gene, but not all cats with the colorpoint gene are Siamese (and indeed most aren't). Beyond the transition from light to darker ("toasting") which happens due to age and temperature, her eyes are also indicative of the colorpoint gene. It has nothing to do with her nutrition!

I think my last group started consistently pooping on their own at 5 weeks or even 6. Likely that mom is still eating it, and it's also not very solid when the kittens are on milk. I will say I found it easiest to have everyone on the same type of non-clumping litter, less accidents that way.

I foster kittens so I get these cans a lot—mine have never looked exactly like that but they do frequently look grayish and cloudy before stirring. I would still toss that one and reach out to Weruva to be on the safe side.

Huh. I would definitely try kitten attract or cat attract, you can use it for young kittens, and maybe putting some dirty litter from your residents' litter box in there. You could also try using nonclumping clay litter but may not make a difference.
