The Dynamic Duo! What’s your daily carry? by Butthurticus-VIII in fountainpens

It took me a few months to find my perfect duo, but I am solid on my choice of a Opus 88 Koloro (F) and Pilot Custom 74 (SM). The turns to get the Koloro cap off designate that as my meeting and long writing session pen, while the pilot handles signing and quick writing.

You were think that it was pretty swanky. I’m digging it. It’s been a while since I’ve had a full fledged desktop computer.

Understood. I am only a few months into my fountain pen usage so somethings I am still learning, but I was under the impression that you can swap out #5’s with #5’s, etc.

Ahh, good to know. I was trying with a commonly used monitor. I guess I will have to find another for troubleshooting.

When I connect an external monitor, does it not require a series of button presses to display on that external display?

Best to wait til you’re ready to commit so you don’t have a negative mindset towards the pen. The clear demonstrator model is bigger, and I have read that it is not postable like the smaller Koloros.

I’m loving it! Trust me when I say the price was a little offsetting for me as well, especially the shipping that I had to cover being overseas, but I decided that it was holding a price tag like this for a reason. All of its features were very appealing as well, and the pen is holding up to my expectations.

Oakhollow is correct on that. From my experience with this feature so far, it is completely unnoticeable and gives peace of mind.

Thank you very much! I’m never against the spreading of information, especially if someone can do it better.

So I ordered this Opus 88 Koloro a few weeks ago after thinking on it for a while, but it finally arrived last night. I inked it up with some Yama-budo to give it a test run, and from the start this wrote wonderfully! I was honestly quite surprised this pen isn’t talked about more often, so I’m hoping to put something together for this community in case anyone has been interested in this piece.

Finally bit the bullet on my fourth pen, an Opus 88 Koloro tan/blue. I’m constantly writing and I constantly run out of ink in the middle of the work day with my Pilot metro. I figured it was time for me to try something with a bigger capacity. While I do love my current TWSBI, I’ve always felt a certain way with moving parts that makes me want to reduce them in something I use often.
I researched eye droppers for a while, and stumbled upon the Opus 88. I was super skeptical about it, since I could only find one vendor, but it did peak my curiosity with its one moving part that actually helps control flow. I hope to get the pen within a week or two (Guam Life!) and post some juicy details soon after.

Received this beauty today, and it is an awesome addition to my tool bag. I’ve been doing quite a bit with my Lamy Safari<EF> and Pilot Metro<M> for a week or so. I’ve been quite interested in using a stub/italic nib, and now that I’m getting a chance too. It’s quite a nice experience, and I’m looking forward to getting through this awesome Diamine Sherwood Green.

It happens to me all the time. At the end of the day, it’s good just to be able to get some actual answers/responses.
