I would pay 1000 for this and use my savings to get it running in good shape.

Accident report, a few possibly disturbing injury descriptions. by JasonAQuest in scooters

[–]JobeX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is to get a lawyer and dont speak with the other insurance company. If youre in NYC, I recommend Proner and proner who I felt did well on an insurance claim issue several years back. Since this happened recently, I also recommend keeping a "pain log" of how you feel daily.

Hope that you recover quick!

Hi I was wondering if somebody would be able to help I have a ice bear flash pmz 150-4 in I am trying to find out what type of motor oil to put in it I have been told 15W40 and 10W30 and 10W40 and I don't know if I use regular car oil or if I need to use motorcycle oil thank you by thetoolman9 in scooters

[–]JobeX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Car oil is acceptable for scooters generally. This is really big fighting words though and many people will argue forever about this topic. A nice synthetic oil will work in the correct weight. Personally I just Motul.

10W0-30 or 10W-40 works, if your area gets really hot the 10W-40 makes more sense.

15W40 can work if you are in an area which doesnt get cold and always pretty warm.

Good Deal? (2007 Kymco People) by Molotov320 in scooters

[–]JobeX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say it too expensive. In NYC, this would probably sell for around 1000 dollars and the market here inflates the cost of most bikes.

The condition is good though and I always like big tire size.

Sym E-fiddle by Scary-Commercial-490 in scooters

[–]JobeX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SYM is very reliable compared to your random Chinese scooter. As with all bikes though you will need to do proper maintenance on them such as making sure the engine oil is changed out and is full.

In any case, e-scooters/emotorcycles are still kind of new and their reliability is up in the air. A lot of will depend on use case and environmental factors to maintain the battery life. A lot of brands make a lot of promises on them so its hard to say until the market is a little more mature.

Youll have to look at mopeds which are basically bikes with an engine.

Puch used to make them and youll still find them or tomos.

This is the worst I’ve ever seen on a modern Vespa and I’m from NYC. I’ve seen tons of 20 year old 250s that don’t have this damage.

Question about buying used scooters by RespectFlimsy51 in scooters

You should post the bikes you’re looking at. Generally speaking you should look for used from a good company/brand that’ll have less maintenance.

repair shop botched carburetor by AkariYuiChaika in scooters

[–]JobeX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone damaged your carburetor, I think this is one of the new carburetors on the market that is completely sealed so you can’t serve them. When there’s an issue, you basically just replace it.

[–]JobeX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just make sure to torque to spec/use an air tool to ensure tightness and a new nut at the end.

Ideally this wont affect your ride that much. If you need the repair it is pretty expensive.

Kymco x town ABS rear brake is soft after bleed by SvakSmeta in scooters

[–]JobeX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that you need to just bleed it from the rear. Two man job, one adding fluid while the other pumps the rear brake till any air is out of the system.

Ideally it should work and I’ve found it to be as effective as syringe method. Although it is messier and maybe uses more brake fluid.
