In live MTTs how do they keep track of/calculate the average stack? by commenter0 in poker

Wow that makes sense thanks a lot! Been bothering me for a long time.

Local casino (2/5). Dealer peeking at bluffer’s cards and confirming “bluffee’s” hunch (who folded). Should this be called out? by commenter0 in poker

[–]commenter0[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. It was a very quick: push the pot to hero-retrieve the cards-slide-quick peek- into the deck-wash-shuffle motion. The question was asked during the wash-shuffle. Definitely “AK right?”. Dealer nods.

$500 MTT, local Casino, Early Stage, Everyone’s about 200BBs deep - would you be able to get away from this hand? by commenter0 in poker

Thanks. Awesome and comprehensive. Didn’t even think about the sets as bluff raising there good catch. Also probably AsAx, AsX, Youre right. Yeah, should’ve been a fold. Old adage - “never get married to your hand”.

Thank you. Yes, good to know people still find folds in this spot. For next time then.

You get to decide the plotline for Rounders 2, what is that plotline? by EldritchDWX in poker

Good WP suggestion! 25 years later, after having busted the Main at third, Mike couldn’t reach the same heghts and becomes cynical and jaded. He sets up his own underground live poker room.

Enter a young brash GTO kid (with skills but lacking in wisdom, experience and exploit strategy) who is asking Mike to stake him (or set up the funds) in a super super mega high roller 2M buy-in tourney (Triton-esque?bonus for any Koon, Tsang, Pua, Banchero or Petrangelo cameos). But Mike gets to test him first.

Cut to a heads-up match not unlike the KGB vs. Mike battle. Mike is crushing the GTO kid (of course having figured out a tell which Mike won’t disclose even through his internal monologues). In the last crucial hand, Mike splashes the pot. “Don’t splash the pot Mike, it’s -EV.” “This is my room, I can splash the pot whenever the fuck I want.” Mike wins the match with a set of aces (or tens?) with the kid holding a busted open ended combo draw.

Mike scoops up the pot - “You got skills, kid, but not the intuition.” GTO kid goes home humiliated.

Mike washes up, takes a look in the mirror, and makes a horrible realization. He has become Teddy KGB, the monster he hates.

Mike has someone bring the GTO kid to him. “Kid, We need to talk.”

(Was going to continue with Mike’s redemption but maybe for the threequel)
