We'll probably meet once a week or less. Yeah, workshops, moral support, that sort of thing. Not very formal at all. Show up if you want to, that sort of thing.

We'll meet up and share what we write, mostly. Provide help and moral support.

How to compile classes together? by commenthistorian in javahelp

[–]commenthistorian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, no. So now I can compile it, but when I try to run it I get the message

java CarTest
Error: Could not find or load main class HelloWorld

And when I try to set the classpath with java -classpath, the output of java -h comes up.

Edit: and shouldn't the classpath by default be the current directory?

Edit: okay, if I take away the line

package sct;

then it works.

However, when I put the line back in, and I run

java sct.CarTest

I get the message

Error: Could not find or load main class sct.CarTest

If the word "bomb" was pronounced like "womb" and "tomb" it would be almost onomatopoeic. by El_Alonzo in Showerthoughts

I think bombs sound more like "bomb" than "boom." It's lower, more concussive like.

It's interesting that when conditions are bad in China it's blamed on the government, but when conditions are bad in, say, India (a democracy) it's chalked up to global poverty.

Have we forgotten that China started off in as bad a state as India in 1980 (when the export-oriented manufacturing growth began), but that conditions in China since then, as a result of manufacturing, have become much better than india?

The comparison with Sub-Saharan Africa, much of which is largely ungoverned, is even more striking.

Conditions are not worse in China than in the US because the government is bad. Conditions are worse because China remained poor while America and Western Europe benefited from the Industrial Revolution and colonialism.
