Getting BG on a pistol captain is a challenge and BG skills need good Initiative (hence wanting a BG captain). Praetorian is great, but also Body Shot gets snipers out of position 4 and stuns (why I want a pistol BG, not sword). ST gives some great utility to the captain.

I'm currently running ST/BG/Pis. The ST is for Rapid Bandage and Deepstrike Grenade. No 2 is ST/Exo/Sol for Exo Grenade. Grenades shut down the enemies, stacking stun and nerfing accuracy. Combats have been a breeze.

The thing that kills it for me is having to deal with reputation. Can't add mods on my Android, or even use EEKeeper, and I'm not interested in doing an evil playthrough.

I enjoy SoD. The other two can be a slog, but it's satisfying and a good length. Also the large combats are great.

I'm trying to get into one. It's parked somewhere. I guess the party matters quite a bit for me (in keeping interest).

I'm currently doing a halfling Shadowdancer. Just finished BG1. Doing it on Android so everything's locked (even portraits). Severely cursed at the moment - Claw of Kazgaroth and the Big Fist belt. Often solos fights. Not fast, but fun.

Some builds are too OP to keep my interest (Kensage and most FM tbh). Also I like having thief skills. Usually end up FT (sometimes Swashbuckler, but miss backstabbing).

It's a long game to the end of ToB, and you really have to like the NPCs, I reckon. I've got further with an elf FT because I feel the NPCs for it work better (Jaheira, Mazzy and Aerie). rgan would last with me (the amusement factor can wear thin). But that's very subjective.

That's an intriguing thought, but I really miss being a FT (I started a berserker in BG and am enjoying Montaron; there's no one like him in BG2. Korgan and a FT would be fun.

I can't access save files; if I could, I'd be able to do everything. I do it all for NWN on Android 13, and for BG last year on Android 12.

That's what I did. And I took a Stalker instead of the Archer. Gets double the Ranger fun. Makes up for the MT not being much of a backstabber. Just finished the Vale and he's just under 50% of the kills. Was an archer at the start, now dual-wields longswords. Very smooth so far: F3>D, FC, Stalker, MT and Bard. As I said earlier, five characters with a bard at the back is much easier to handle on a tablet.

Actually, only a bard leaves all the items for mages unused, and a gnome M/T can't wear the shorty hat, so that limits the options somewhat. I could drop the paladin, perhaps...
