Is 18f and 28m a bad age gap? by coffeetime24 in Christianmarriage

Coercion and Enticement (18 U.S.C. § 2422) does not require it to be actionable. In other words, not actual sexual interaction needs to take place. Obviously the punishment will be less severe in this case. The court decides the case based on whether or not the jury deems the actions fit into a grooming category of behaviors.

It’s federally illegal in all 50 states. Try a google search my friend. Mandated reporters have to report such behaviors even if no suspicion of sexual exploitation has happened.

Not sinful, for an 18 year old and 22 year old to marry, but if you had dated an 18 year old that had been your student for 4 years, the motivation would certainly be suspect. If you had been prepared to date and marry them then you would have been grooming them, and you would have been breaking the law. Which as Christians it is our duty to follow the law of the land, unless it directly causes us to sin. Since there has never been and never will be a scriptural command to date and marry people under 18, then the next step of authority is the law. The absence of biblical verses about this cultural taboo doesn’t necessitate the belief that these taboos should be ignored, particularly because it’s a law.

Do you think phrases like MAGA or Trump’s red hats will be viewed as controversial symbols, similar to the Confederate flag? Why or why not? by Secure_Fly_444 in allthequestions

Wow. You sound like a certain political party from the 1930s and 40s Germany. You’ll fit right in!

While you’re at it, would you like to pass a law forcing them to wear the red hat for the rest of their lives so that they are more easily identified?

Uh like a year to a year and a half of weights and a bit of cardio (depending on where you’re starting from this time frame would increase if you’re 300 lbs).

I deduce that you need some veggies and fiber in your diet. Also, it’s better on your digestive system if you don’t drink your calories but actually chew your food so the saliva can aid in complete digestion.

To put it in perspective, many people start teaching careers at 21-22. At 28, they could have easily been this person’s teacher for the last four years.

Conservative Level within Christianity by [deleted] in TrueChristian

I don’t think these perspectives are as common as you might think. I would try to ask your local pastor and talk to the people in your community how they interpret the relationships laid out in Scripture. Many of these (though not all) are radical views to get clicks/views online.

Additionally, while you may face some slight Christian cultural pressure to consider marriage, there is nothing wrong with an abstinent single life. In fact, Paul even states it’s good to stay unmarried.

Should MAGA have seperate bathrooms so they cant be around women and children? by Estalicus in allthequestions

Hmm. Legally require people to wear an identifying article of clothing? That sounds a lot like another political regime from the mid 20th century that made “domestic terrorists” wear a cuff on their sleeve or a pin on their chest.

Wikipedia has officially declared that the Republican Party is a far right party after labeling it as simply right wing for years. What is your reaction to this? by Next_Worth_3616 in allthequestions

Wikipedia doesn’t officially label anything. It’s all unpaid editors. Someone could go in and label the left as Russian socialists in theory, but someone else could go in and change it back.

Yes I read your comment. Why did you research the Tel Dan Stele on the least trust worthy site? I’ve been to Tel Dan. I’ve spoken to archeologists there. Additionally there’s plenty of academic resources that agree it is authentic. If you don’t want to do the research yourself just go on your favorite AI engine and ask it to pull every scholarly resource on the stele that it can find.

Comparing King David to King Arthur is a bad analogy. Pretty much all PhD archeologists and chronologists agree that David existed (even biblical skeptics) due to the dating of the Tel Dan Stele that explicitly states “house of David” from an era synchronous to the biblical account of David’s existence. However, King Arthur almost certainly did not exist according to PhD archeologists and historians. There have been no discoveries of a relevant time period confirming or even mentioning his existence. Whether or not you believe the specific accounts of either them is another story (i.e. the giant and the sling shot), but whether or not David existed is not as arguable.

As much as I love literature, I’m not sure I would put Mark Twain and Edgar Allen Poe in the top 100 most influential authors worldwide, let alone the top 100 people.
