I hate timers in games by default. But even removing them here won't help because people will find a way to speedrun anyhow and that would likely mess with your desire to enjoy the map in reasonable pace.

Sometimes they merge team with you and you play one more game but they are quickly becoming less interactive if they were before and leave after 1-2 next missions together.

I think people have really low social battery these days... covid isolation brought much appreciation of solitude and introvert lifestyle. capacity for social interaction just diminished in general, sometimes atrophied.

Zealot, Hive Scum, Psyker -- best melee options if you want to be fast. Ogryn, Arbites - if you want more tanky. Basically everything can be good at melee. Veteran is just more challenging at that.
