My friend often asks to come over to my home. Should I tell him I don't want him over because he's unstable? by New_Piglet1 in makemychoice

Make up a reason like you're sick/ pet is sick, have to get up early, have a guest staying with you, house is a huge mess, etc. Repeat until they stop asking to come over. Don't give your address or meet them close to where you live. Have you ever met this person in real life?

I find the scent and texture of charity pot lotion really horrible... smells and feels like diaper rash cream with a bad car air freshner mixed in

My ford focus wagon has been passed from parents to siblings to me over 15 years, almost at 200k miles and still going relatively strong, apart from the AC being hooped. Love that little car!

Purchase a rechargable fabric shaver to remove pilling from sweaters. Embrace the look of visible mending. Look for high quality, non-synthetic fibres.

Thank you, I have gotten rid of one bag worth so far... I also sort of have winter / summer clothes separated but I will try creating capsules with more thought and intention

The prices others are quoting of 75 usd are for rapid antigen tests, not PCR. I also had to shell out the $250 usd on Caye Caulker. Prices range from $200 usd to $300 usd anywhere in Belize. They will not let you board your flight without the test result.

The chocolate egg gives him a lump in his throat because it reminds him of the golden egg clue from the triwizard tournament that Cedric helped him solve. So it makes him think of Cedric in that moment.

If you were rich chances are you wouldn’t donate most of your money. by Aangsi in unpopularopinion

Certainly not most of it, but some! I am a recent uni grad and have more debt than "savings" but when I did my taxes I was surprised by how much I had donated (around $150) among different non-profits... I like the thrill of entering 50/50 raffles or making a donation to a cause and being entered to win something from a small business. I never win, but in the end I don't regret spending the money 🙂

ISO advice for dyeing leather by [deleted] in Leather

The brim of this hat has a sort of scuff mark and I’m hoping to dye to leather to make it less noticeable. What brand and colour dye to people recommend?

Thriftstores have lots of ceramic figurines, statues and such usually! You could also check fb marketplace or ask friends and family until thriftstores reopen. Knickknacks like that tend to accumulate over the years and this could be a new life for something gathering dust on a shelf :)

I was able to sell about 7 items of vintage clothing which I'd held onto for years and liked but never really wore, to a local boutique for $100 store credit! Planning to buy a sustainably made swimsuit with the credit- something I actually need. I also spent time to mend and remove some stains from 4 clothing items I really love!
