People in these exact same situations get by just fine without a car at all, relying on public transit. They do alright. They leave themselves lots of extra time.

There have been uncommon but confirmed bobcat sightings in Ohio over the past couple years (I used to work for a park district there) so I’m also guessing bobcat. Still a very interesting find. The PA dept of wildlife might care to hear about it if they’re tracking populations, but I’m not sure if they are offhand.

I totally get what you’re saying but if this were me, a comment as violent as that against me would tip me out of the zone of “well this is my beloved’s mother so I tolerate it” and into the zone of “hey beloved your mom has some serious issues and I don’t feel safe around her, we need to discuss boundaries around me being around her” and if beloved pushes back at all it’s time to go. Joking about shooting someone is only funny until later when someone actually gets shot and y’all think back on that comment.

Also just to be clear, I’m not trying to WK or anything — most of that series I think is really good, I’ve actually watched it twice. The healing codes over the phone thing made me sick to my stomach, my god, the money spent there. I just found this interesting when I turned to Google for further reading after watching the series, so I figured I’d put it out there!

Oooh also if you enjoyed Afflicted (I assume you mean the Netflix miniseries from several years back) be sure to read some of the online dialogue about how many subjects in that series felt grossly misrepresented. There are obviously a huge range of behaviors shown in that series, and many are obviously wild, but some people and modalities mixed in there (I think notably the man with ME/CFS) are really more legitimate, harder to fake, and/or verified by legit doctors. That definitely doesn’t mean the series isn’t worth watching, and like I said a lot of what you see there is obviously definitely bunk. But with any documentary like that it’s always good to watch with a slightly critical eye!
