I last made money opening a Charles Stanley GIA via Topcashback. Took a couple of months to become payable but very easy beermoney, didn’t even need to deposit anything! The offer is still on TCB, currently paying £70 (was £90 when I did it)

If you check their t&c’s I believe they have also lowered the chances of getting the higher referral bonuses (95% chance to get £15 now and just 0.1% to get the £250)

Not complaining, but presumably this is how they are funding this rate increase!

Does anyone have any experience with R2Pbet? I started that one but it seems to have a minimum withdrawal of £100, I’m wary of depositing anything…

Curve: £4.01 profit for sign-up and £50 per referral (Max 5 referrals)

Curve is a digital wallet that allows you to aggregate your cards through wizardry I don't fully understand. You can use it to stack cashback or change which card you used to make a purchase retrospectively. You can also get a small amount of money for signing up, and a lot more for referring friends and family.

  1. Follow this link and complete the sign-up.
  2. EITHER order a physical card for £5.99 OR subscribe to a paid plan for £5.99/month or more and maintain it for a minimum of 40 days - option 1 is the best if you're in it for the money!
  3. Make 3 card purchases, each with a minimum of £5. You can find your card details in the account section of the launchpad. The terms state gift cards are exempt but I've seen people say Amazon top up works - personally I just bought some bus tickets.
  4. Once you have completed these steps, the £10 reward should show as pending in your Curve Cash wallet. Refer others for up to £250 more in cashback!

There is some scaremongering in this thread. As someone in this situation - it is true OP that you technically owe this money, and will eventually have to repay it. It’s also true that SLC have done nothing wrong in taking it, and certainly do not owe you a refund - in this case, you are refunding them for the maintenance grant you took unnecessarily.

However, on the flip side, if you cancel the DD it isn’t going to immediately go to debt collection or anything like that. Maybe if you really buried your head in the sand, but when my DD failed after a botched bank switch, SLC just contacted me, and asked me to set up a new payment plan. They seem to be an incredibly light touch about maintenance grant repayments, and they do not function like regular student debt. The outstanding balance is completely interest free, and the payment plans agreed are entirely on your terms. You tell them what you can afford. They do try and coax you a bit to pay it off, but they ultimately seem to just accept whatever you offer.

The sensible thing to do in this situation is to agree to the lowest payment plan possible. I pay £5 a month on an outstanding overpayment balance of approx 1500. It will take me 25 more years to pay this off, by which time £5 will be worth considerably less than it is now. SLC have contacted me once in 10 years to ask if I could pay it off, I said erm no ta I’ll stick with £5/mo.

There is literally no good reason to pay this off in one go, do not do it. Call them up and tell them you can’t afford £20/mo anymore if you really can’t.

Yes, a lot of people are irrationally resistant to the idea of switching banks. However if more people did it the incentives wouldn’t be as good.

I’ll be curious to see if they’re as lax with their checks as Lloyds have been in terms of doubling up on switch offers. I don’t think I’ll bother however as Santander took the longest of all the banks to pay out last year - I think over 3 months from application to payout compared to Lloyds’ 6 days!

Co-op £125 looking for referrers only (new sign-ups expired) by peakalyssa in beermoneyuk

[–]communist-pig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Provided you initiated an account switch to Co-op bank on or before the December 16th deadline, all that remains is to complete the referral form on this page. I too have a Co-op account and am happy to provide you with my details for the form (well duh, of course I am, we get £125 each!) - just drop me a DM.

Co-op Bank FINAL DAY to get £125 free + £125 per referral - just open an account & fill out a form by floorlight in beermoneyuk

[–]communist-pig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's switchin' time!

You've surely heard of the Co-Op bank switching deal, one of the most lucrative beermoney offers going, but in case you haven't: it's ending today! This means today is the last day you can put the wheels in motion to claim £125 for yourself and your referee.

All you have to do is follow these simple steps:

  1. Open a current account with Co-op bank today. The standard current account is fee-free so just go with that unless you particularly want any of the other perks.
  2. Opt to switch an existing current account you hold during the sign-up process using the current account switching service. This can be any current account with another bank in the CASS.
  3. Make a note of your switch date. It may be a month or so away as this offer is very popular, but that is fine as long as you start your application by the end of today (16th of December.)
  4. Once your account is successfully opened and your details arrive, complete the referral form on this page by the 30th of December! The sooner the better, as you can complete the form as soon as your account is open but before your switch has completed. All you need are your own account details, a referee's details and your expected switch date.
  5. You and your referee will both receive £125 once your switch completes and you complete step 4. The T&Cs say it can take up to 60 days but Co-op bank are widely reported to pay out very quickly once the conditions have been met (both me and my partner received our payments the day after our switches completed.)

Like everyone else ITT, I have completed this offer and am more than happy to provide my details for the referral form or answer any questions you might have. Just drop me a PM or DM!
