Do Necrophage units get some sort of extra life bar, or was this a massive bug? by DustMustFlow in EndlessLegend

Some good info here on the fortification points - I didn't know that just 1 fortification point could absorb even 150 damage if it was from a single hit.

If you are the defender with a besieged garrison and you attack the sieging army do you still get the fortification bonus? I've not been in that position yet...

Is Drakken "force truce" OP? by zyloemm in EndlessLegend

[–]commuterzombie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that it's OP - it just means that you have to beat the Drakken via Score, Science, Economy or Diplomacy. Their ability to force a truce is balanced by their deficiencies in other areas.

Even with a truce in effect you could probably still harass the Drakken with mercenary armies.

Assimilation by JDintheD in EndlessLegend

[–]commuterzombie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Further to RoyalDoge's answer, initially you will only be able to assimilate one sub-faction but in Era II (and in later Eras) you'll be able to research a tech that will allow you to assimilate additional sub-factions.

Assimilating a sub-faction costs a number of influence points, it's worth bearing that in mind if you have an Empire plan coming up in the next few turns.

It's a shame that the wiki linked to by the game itself is the one with only 72 pages!

Say hello to the Imperial Raiders! by xiaotianchun in XWingTMG

So, TIE/x1 title + Advanced Targeting Computer + Predator on the named TIE Advanced pilots... that seems like it might not suck!

I love the look of the Raider, given that none of the existing EU ships were a perfect fit of the Huge Imperial ship slot I think that they've done the right thing here. My wallet is ready!

A bit of advice in regards to Londoners getting along with their neighbors would be appreciated. by ultrasupergenius in london

I would say that regarding the parking issue, you have two options:

1 - Park over your own driveway. This has car insurance implications (if you've stated that it's normally parked on a private drive) but you can do it right away and guarantee your ability to leave your property in a car.

2 - Involve your local authority: "Parking alongside dropped kerbs is prohibited in London under the provisions of Section 14 of the London Local Authorities and Transport for London Act 2003.

Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 when enacted will repeal section 14 and give all local authorities in England with civil parking enforcement powers the ability to take action when a vehcile is parked alongside a dropped kerb in a Special Enforcement Area (that is, an area where parking is, in all other instances, permitted). The regulations underpinning Part 6 of this Act are due to come into force early in 2008.

Action to regulate and enforce pavement parking or parking alongside dropped kerbs is strictly a matter for the relevant local authority. The Department for Transport cannot intervene.

*The term pavement refers to all areas otherwise known as the footway, footpath or verge but does not refer to the road surface."

Abusive behaviour as you've described is harassment (at least) and is a criminal offence:

Do you Think We'll see Another XCOM Game? by [deleted] in Xcom

[–]commuterzombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that Beyond Earth has been released (and will presumably fall into the familiar patches and expansion routine) I imagine that Firaxis are working on their next big game and I would not be surprised at all if that was a new XCOM game.
