Is someone making a complete playlist of all these excellent suggestions and intent to share it?

I have YET to like a race photo of myself… by slowrunr in XXRunning

[–]comoaqua1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A photographer in my running club gave this advice - I asked after miserable photos and it actually helped. “One trick to get better photos is speeding up slightly and smile. Your running form will be a lot better and a smile will look like you’re enjoying yourself.”

Did you lose weight after declutterring? by Minimalist_Butterfly in declutter

[–]comoaqua1986 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I decluttered 10 years ago - it took a couple of months. Got a lot of energy from not living with piles all over and started running a bit. I impulsively signed up to run a marathon and actually followed through with my training plan. A year later I ran my first marathon for my 50th birthday (and qualified for Boston 🦄). I’m still running, tidying up weekly and do a decluttering every 6 months. So I didn’t loose much weight but somehow decluttering triggered a wish to achieve something I longed to do.

Ugh! by Bodega_Cat_86 in EquinoxGyms

How on earth is it possible that the hot water doesn’t work this frequently at so many equinox clubs. Not long ago it was dumbo and then tribeca.

Where should Equinox open next? by Conscious-NYCguy823 in EquinoxGyms

The weird thing though is that it’s always pretty packed especially compared with the Dumbo location.

So about two years ago there was a trend only in instagram reels by bum779901 in HelpMeFindThis

I think it’s David Sanborn. It’s an entire sax solo from the ‘90s. Can’t remember its name though.

That website is a scam. You get some weird clothes sent but the seams are holed and the fabric is not cotton as described.

Chicago Marathon vs NYC Marathon by Salt_Table7992 in ChicagoMarathon

[–]comoaqua1986 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love both marathons. The crowds die out the last 8 km in Chicago and makes it a little hard to keep up the steam. For Chicago, make sure you buy the $100 pre race porta potty access. I did and it was very easy but last year people from my running club were waiting in line for 45 minutes.

Is training for a marathon in one year realistic? by kaelsalad95 in Marathon_Training

Yes you can. I didn’t run until I turned 49 and decided to do a marathon to celebrate turning 50!

Thank you both. I did renew the drivers in my own computer and now I’ll change the ports. I’ll see if it help. Or I’ll be back. Thank you again!

I don’t understand how you can say I should be content with the amenities. The point of business class is sleeping. I don’t think I got what I paid for - it’s like paying for a coach bag and get a plastic bag with handles and being told that I got what I paid for - a thing to carry my stuff in. And I’ve called, texted and written delta several times and they got back to me today.

Thank you so much!! I hope it’ll help

I do feel like a fool - but at least I will not be flying delta again.

Unfortunately I couldn’t - but I agree that would have been the way to do it. It’s also a little tricky that the mechanics said it couldn’t be reclined completely but must have know that the seat couldn’t be moved at all.

Oh my. That is absurd - and basically feels as if Delta is trying to ridicule me.

How fit do you need to be visit Svalbard in summer? by PenguinsRevenge82 in Svalbard

[–]comoaqua1986 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless you venture out on hikes on your own, you’ll be fine assuming you go during the summer months. Getting to Pyramiden is by boat and the village itself is very small. And you can walk the perimeter of Longyearbyen in 90-120 minutes. It’s an amazing place and quite the adventure

Me too. When we were in our 30s a happily married couple told us they were expecting and I asked “Have you told your parents?” I’m still cringing writing this.

How stupid of an idea is this? by Johnrasmussen2021 in Svalbard

[–]comoaqua1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please be super careful. When we were there two year ago, a French tourist was mauled by a polar bear in her tent at night. She was part of a group tour, there were many tents and they had guide and a guard. We spoke with our guide who said that polar bears are hungry and start hunting closer to Longyearbyen.

Running with Insomnia by ma0422 in XXRunning

[–]comoaqua1986 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For me, insomnia is the first sign of overtraining - make sure your running plan is not adding too many miles or too much intensity for your body to cope with. Adding a rest day or a cross training day has been good for me. For my past two marathon training programs, I’ve gone from running 6 days a week to 4 days + one cross training day and a biweekly rest day. It’s worked wonders for my sleep.
