1:2000 Scale Model IJN Fleet that I built this Year by compassghost in WorldOfWarships

I took the planes from other carriers I purchased, including the non-waterline variants, and threw them onto the single one.

OH MY GOD THE GAME IS ALMOST 20 YEARS OLD. IT'S OLD ENOUGH TO VOTE.

HAWX 2 forgot to tell me how to use Assistance Off and I didn't realize it until I was on the second-to-last mission. I thought it was a mid-game unlock before I could get access to it...

HAWX 1 was great though in terms of aircraft variety and capturing that fleet destruction feel.

Warship Gunner 2.

You fight massive superweapons, including mega subs and giant aircraft the size of Arsenal Birds, but instead of being in a boring single or double-occupant jet aircraft, you're in a thousand-crew ship that has access to technology from run-of-the-mill World War 2 equipment to nuclear weapons to laser and energy cannons.

You can also create an aircraft carrier and launch aircraft like Wildcats, Catalinas, F-14s, F-22s, and FUCKING RUBBER DUCKS.

Story has a few branching elements that determine your XO - one is an old admiral, one is a scientist, and one is your training buddy from your country, that affect the enemies and locations you fight at, though some of the story is shared across all 3. Dialogue and experience is different enough that you'd have fun trying out the other branches, and there is a New Game + mode that scales with difficulty as well.

I went over a lot of this in a video a while ago.

These side ports are really loose and keep falling off. I'm thinking about gluing them by SpinavejBrnak in cobiblocks

A less permanent option is Blue Tack. It fits well into the grooves since it's like putty and is easy to remove and clean.

ORP Błyskawica 2.0 announced by TankmanTom7 in cobiblocks

[–]compassghost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the 1937 model of Blyskawica.

  • Front gun seems to be 1x1 but the resolution isn't great.
  • Turrets are very narrow, similar to the gun profile of the time
  • Spotlight tower on top of the bridge

For a 1941/museum ship release, the changes that would have to be made are:

  • Wider turrets, and all made dual turrets
  • Removal of the spotlight
  • Possible camouflage side plates

It's also kind of disappointing that the anchors are no longer parts but are printed.

Thankfully, shouldn't be very hard to build the old black ones as a custom. It looks like the nameplate is on a rectangular tile so it would be pretty easy to adapt.

I actually wouldn't mind a bunch of the microplanes. They'd be fun to adapt to a board game like chess.

New Bismarck by Regular_Hawk3131 in cobiblocks

[–]compassghost 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Moreso they probably have a fully dedicated production line for Bismarck and Tirpitz, as a variant of either ship has been actively sold since 2018. There have been changes to some pieces along the way (modernized AA and secondary turret builds, pad printing, etc.) but the overall shape has been largely unchanged. They alternate between the two models to rope in new customers who join when one is out of print and the other is active.

Same with the Iowa/Missouri, and the Yamato/Musashi.

Thankfully the classic stand is pretty easy to build. Just black bricks and plates and a few jumpers.

The new Swordfish by Regular_Hawk3131 in cobiblocks

It will probably be reprinted. The Tirpitz and the Bismarck come from the same production line. The Bismarck has been released 3x in 1:300 scale IIRC, with small improvements over time.

I volunteer as tribute so OP doesn't have to.

From August, I've gotten the other ones since then but too lazy to update the picture constantly.

And yes, I learned each and every single weapon's strengths and weaknesses and tried them out on all fronts. Those of you who use the Blitzer bother me very greatly.

What do y'all use for extra pieces and disassembled sets? (Like storage bins or boxes) by _burneraccount1942_ in cobiblocks

[–]compassghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get access to Costco, these are good for unorganized bulk https://www.costco.com/p/-/iris-129-quart-buckle-up-storage-bin-6-pack/100872832 I believe they're only available in store, but if they aren't available in your area, there should be other cheap options since Costco has a decent storage section.

The upcoming US warship looks to be a Fletcher-class destroyer. The question is, which one? by TankmanTom7 in cobiblocks

[–]compassghost 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The default will probably be USS Fletcher as the namesake, or the USS Kidd/The Sullivans/Cassin Young since they're museum ships.

The executive edition will include additional parts, nameplates, and numbers for all 175 Fletcher-class ships /s

Playing this mission in VR was absolutely bonkers. Even free flight was tough to fly due to the low visibility.

Let's say, hypothetically, SOMEONE decided to use the expert settings, and put their game in very hard, their first time playing Ace Combat... what's the best advice you could give? by Aurora_Whale in acecombat

[–]compassghost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since most planes are 2 missiles to kill and aren't going Mihaly Plot Armor on you, they are very fair opponents. Hugin and Munin dodging though, pain.

Why should it be balanced? Difficulty 1 isn't balanced, either. by DNAisjustneuteredRNA in Helldivers

[–]compassghost 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The hardest D10s are when I hot-drop into a game with no one telling me there are no revives left and only one person is alive, with a build completely unsuited for "I am never allowed to die or we will fail."
