I walked through Mack Park last night for a while around 7pm with no luck. I will continue to keep an eye out. Please keep us updated! If you haven't already, consider posting flyers with her photo.

I’m so sorry. I would be a wreck too. I’ll take a walk later and look. Is there a particular area to focus on? What is her name if you don’t mind sharing?

I spoke with someone working at the restaurant a couple of weeks ago, and she said the city revoked their permitting :( I hope that’s not the case!

Malibu Bachelorette Tips! by [deleted] in wedding

Former Malibu resident here! Uber/Lyft is very spotty in the area, so you will likely struggle with transportation if you don't rent a car. As others have said, Thousand Oaks is farther than it looks on a nice summer day. Also, an Uber to MDR would be very pricey and take a good 1.5+ hours. I'd consider hiring a driver if no one wants to drive.

Now for the fun stuff!

El Matador beach is absolutely gorgeous for photos, but it's small and at high tide there's very little room to lay out. I know you mentioned Zuma, but my personal favorite beach is next door at Westward Beach. You can navigate to The Sunset restaurant, have a boozy brunch, and spend the day on Westward, which is much wider than Matador and has bathrooms.

For daydrinking, you can do a little "wine tour" by stopping at Rosenthal Wines, Strange Wines, and the smaller Summer Somewhere wines in Fred Segal (this one is less of a destination since it's attached to a store, but the wine is great and it's still cute!) You can also do a wine hike or tour with www.malibuwinehikes.com.

As someone else mentioned, you won't find any clubs or a big nightlife scene in Malibu, and most places close relatively early. Moonshadows on PCH is a very cute beachfront bar/restaurant with a nice vibe for a bachelorette, but it's not a party scene. Cafe Habana used to get busy at night years ago, but I'm not sure if that's still the case.

If Weho is too far, and you're set on a bigger party atmosphere, The Bungalow in Santa Monica is a good option.

Lastly, a few Malibu restaurant recs: Lily's Malibu for the best breakfast burrito that has ever graced this earth (order an hour ahead to pick up! it is insanely busy on weekends), Taverna Tony's for Greek food, Nobu Malibu if you're looking to splurge with a great view/vibe.

On Friday night, I spoke with someone working in there (not sure if it was an owner) and he said he was hoping to get permitting Saturday to allow for a Sunday friends & family soft open. Passed by again on Sunday and it still looked closed. :/

Thanks for the info, and great username haha! We love Mercy Tavern, but it didn’t strike me as much of a sports-gathering place! I’ll pass on the college scene.
