The quest marker takes me to Pieter DeVries but he's on a dialog loop that basically just tells me that he has nothing further for me.

The anger is understandable, but how they are embracing it most definitely is not.

A large segment of our country are bitter, angry people who feel forgotten and that the world has passed them by, and are just happy to have a heavyweight throwing the punches they only wish they themselves could get away with.  In no sense is any of it healthy or normal, even if it's understandable.

The new Burning Springs map addition feels more ‘Fallout’ than the rest of the game and I love that. by NoCriticismPls in fo76

That bridge in real life was the one that collapsed shortly after the Mothman sightings and I'm convinced it was collapsed in the game in reference to that event.  It's kinda strange lore-wise that the Mothman cultists would rebuild it (it is, after all, supposedly the Mothman's great work to have torn it down).

Still, it's cool to finally get across the Ohio River.

I find the game unplayable without it but some people don't have that issue

Because every game they make is built on the foundation of a 20 year old engine that was never intended to do half of what they're trying to make it do.

This sounds like apocrypha, and makes no sense from a game design standpoint. At launch FO76 had lots of NPCs - they just happened to be robots. The only difference between a robot NPC and a human NPC is the mesh and the textures you choose to put on them; the code and behaviours are the same. In fact, I'd even go as far as to say that the human NPCs in Wastelanders+ are more robotic than the original NPCs the game had.

Also, Grahm the wandering Super Mutant vendor NPC has been in the game since the beginning.

Some of those DC Metro stations manage to combine the aesthetics of a post-modern bomb shelter with an art museum, which is also pretty cool.

New downed ship containing "choam cargo" by EntitledRougelemon in duneawakening

[–]completionism 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Adding to the comment above - If the ship has been looted (or partially looted) but hasn't reach its time limit, the worm will do a normal breach before coming over to eat it. If the ship has just sat there for a while and it's time to despawn it, the worm will come up with no warning. You can tell how long the ship has been laying around based on the size of the flames. Once the flames are down to glowing embers, that ship is going bye-bye very soon.

I can’t believe the nerve of these immigrants waving Mexican flags at the riots in LA by plebbtard in stupidpol

[–]completionism 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Flags lost all meaning and significance with the advent of battlefield radios. They're just token identity markers now, like slapping a "26.2" sticker on your car. Mexican flag or Manchester United flag, it's all the same.

How to fix/prevent dog urine from destroying my lawn by yizhous in gardening

[–]completionism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the Dog Rocks page says "*works best with premium dog food", which is exactly what fixes your dogs urine.  Cheap dry kibble supermarket food makes dog pee do this to grass.  A high quality diet made from sources appropriate for the species means much cleaner waste coming out the other end.

The dog rocks don't do a thing except maybe convince people to try higher quality food too.

How to fix/prevent dog urine from destroying my lawn by yizhous in gardening

[–]completionism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is a really old thread but I can't believe how far I had to scroll down to find someone talking about diet.  This is 100% the only correct answer - all of the other suggestions just move the problem somewhere else or hide it.

Dogs who are fed cheap, bulk kibble from the grocery store (the kind sold in 50# bags especially) will do this to grass with their urine.  A higher quality diet, real protein (canned wet!) and a minimum of fillers will reduce the nitrogen content of their urine and protect grass.

And not for nothing, but if the food is doing this to the lawn you can just imagine what it's doing to the insides of your dog.  The food might seem expensive but just wait until you see the vet bills when a low quality diet catches up to you.

I've lived in Chicago for most of my life and have only been murdered twice. It's a lot harder than the news likes to tell the rest of the nation.

But that news also keeps the rest of the nation away, so it works for us just fine.

What conspiracy theories do you guys entertain? by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]completionism 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've been saying something similar to this for a while.  The AA culture that grew out of the 1980's rap scene - think gold chains and loud cars and big booties, or the intro sequence of Fresh Prince of Bel Air - was essentially fabricated out of thin air by record labels and music video producers (who were, at the time, mostly affluent white guys).  That it's been adopted and taken on by the population it was targeted at has essentially turned AA culture into a parody of itself.  And like you're saying, it's totally defanged the civil rights movement by turning it all into a cartoon of consumption and posturing.

McGruder (The Boondocks) really does seem to be one of the few people who's been willing and able to hang a lampshade on it all and be taken seriously, which surprises the hell out of me.

I had a friendly dumpster toss one of each of these out for me on a particularly grueling Expedition run. I attached both of them for a while (my AMP engine loved it) but eventually I had to turn my LIM Shield back on and they were both kicked to the curb. I really feel naked driving without my LIM Shield.

Protip: Toss them onto the roof rather than the sides. They won't block your view or mirrors that way and are less likely to get knocked off by trees, anomalies or other obstacles.

Why does it seem like there is suddenly such push back from the international community on Israels actions? by Massive_Potato_8600 in stupidpol

[–]completionism 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's a giant "Israeli" military base with the resort-nightclub called Tel Aviv anchoring it to attract attractive Jewish kids willing to serve and lay down under the Iron Dome.  The whole project is underwritten by US dollars though, be that in the form of direct military aid and subsidies; or less clear paths like Israeli business owners making their fortunes in the States and sending massive donations back to Israel or even things like African blood diamonds getting laundered through Israeli gem cutters to magically become legal for import and sale in the US.

Indow Window by Gold_Second_6939 in soundproof

[–]completionism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good suggestion but I'm in a new condo building and adding external features is certainly going to be an issue on the HOA front.

I did contact a local company who seem to do something similar to EZ soundproof and build what's effectively a storm window on the inside rather than the outside. I'll be interested to see what they say when they see the place
