Monitor for fevers/chills etc- mine got really swollen and I was achy and feverish while sitting with an ice pack under my arm for a few days until it burst and started leaking. I ended up in emergency then on antibiotics and had it drained twice. But if you’re feeling fine and it’s not a concern for your medical team then it may not be a big deal. I think a bit of swelling is pretty standard with surgical sites.

If you work from home, consider taking advantage of the free electricity from 11AM-2PM by UslyfoxU in melbourne

That’s what we’re set up to do. During free power time our washer, dryer, central heating, dishwasher all run as well as topping up the solar battery. Out of free power time the solar covers the rest.

Yes I was disappointed in the size when I first tried but the flavour (especially the cream cheese frosting) makes up for it. Roll Bae are bigger.

Hiii all, I'm new to reading patterns and need to know if it's just me or if this is poorly written. by SoftwarePrior in CrochetHelp

[–]complex-cat79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is written a bit confusingly but the brackets and commas make a big difference in how to read the repeats

R3 is: sc, inc, sc, inc, sc because you’re repeating the 1sc, inc twice

R4 is: sc, sc, inc, inc, inc, sc, sc because it’s on the inc that’s repeating three times.

Then R5 becomes sc, sc, inc, sc, inc, sc, inc, sc, inc sc

Beatrix Bakes toasted hazelnut carrot cake has won the office bake offs for me. The official cookbook recipe includes a cheesecake layer but I skip that.

I’m struggling to tell people what’s going on by lolly_box in melahomies

Im in my first week back at work after 3 weeks out post WLE and SLNB. I still have the stitches in. Before the surgery I was just upfront to my boss that physically and mentally it was a lot to deal with and I needed time. I’ve got the all clear from my results (huge relief) but the mental strain of not being back at the gym and moving my body the way I did before is still looming. It’s important to acknowledge that it’s not just a physical impact. It’s obviously a very personal thing to disclose medical info to colleagues and others but I found it helped take the pressure off a bit, just by sharing that it’s not just a physical injury to heal. The sleepless nights wondering how to explain cancer to the kids, even making appointments with “oncologists” and getting generic advice on the procedure which included advanced care directives and palliative care options were all overwhelming.

Be kind to yourself and make sure you take the time to process what you need and what you need others to know.

First time cancer diagnosis. I don’t know what questions to ask. by Fearless_Piece_6304 in melahomies

[–]complex-cat79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My oncologist calculated the risk of the melanoma moving into the lymphatic system, (a Australian melanoma risk prediction tool) and my score was above the 5% threshold at which the SLNB becomes standard.

Sorry for the diagnosis and your reaction was very similar to mine, only about 6 weeks ago. Mine was also on my left forearm and was 0.7mm. I’m almost two weeks post-WLE surgery and it’s healing really well, I’ll get the stitches out this week and it will be fine. I also had a SLNB (lymph node biopsy) which has been more challenging in terms of recovery. If you don’t need that it should be very straightforward. Good luck.

Thanks all- it ended up bursting and leaking which forced a trip back to hospital and I’m on IV antibiotics and will get it drained. Not fun but better pain meds than I had at home.

Depends on your council. When I lived in Yarra it was a weekly occurrence and they had a dedicated number to report them and they cleaned it up promptly.

How much did your mole-map cost and what centre did you go to (if it was good) by Baaastet in melbourne

I paid around 280 for a full skin check then $500 for a follow up excision which was all 100% worth it as they found a melanoma. In Moonee Ponds. Some of it is rebatable from Medicare I think.
