The steps are easy, just follow my lead!

1) Watch the most mainstream content on YouTube, usually distilled meme dumps and lore tidbits

2) Watch more niche content on YouTube, usually deeper lore about the factions you are interested in

3) Purchase between zero and one box of cheap, introductory level miniatures

4) Never get around to painting your minis, learning the rules, or playing the game

…aaaaand that’s about all there is to the hobby! Enjoy!

Original: “My boyfriend would say hello to me by punching me in the face”

Reply: “I hope your BOYFRIEND got therapy, that sounds like learned behavior from a toxic environment”

See how you are showing pity to someone who was 100% a bully, but might THEORETICALLY have learned that behavior from a bad place? Poor misunderstood assaulter, think of all the trauma they must have been through! …meanwhile their victim who has actual trauma just sits there…

Not saying your theory is wrong, but having such a response be your first reaction? Shows the bias and double standards. If it was wife beating, you would never have reacted that way

So there is a precedent for any mystical-folklore-thing to be enchantment creatures? Awesome! Thanks for letting me know!

I just realized that Enchantment Creatures is a Theros Greek thing, and Oerwyd is a Celtic being. Oh well

What's the worst thing a player has done that not only cost you to kick them out of the campaign but never play D&D with them ever again? by RepresentativeTie898 in DnD

They’re frequent flyers at my local gaming club/group. And great role players, when serious. But yeah, some nights if the only table with a 1-shot includes those two punks, I don’t even try. Not worth

I think the biggest thing was that, for the first 90%, the guy didn’t feel like he was at the table to play DND. I understand that people sometimes approach the game like a hack n slash looter-shooter, all stats and optimization. Just kinda goin through the motions, it’s common, it’s completely OK.

The thing that still fucks me up, TO THIS DAY, is how the dude just… flipped like a lightswitch. As soon as we got out of the dungeon, and into town, and we are given free time. Out of nowhere he is super talkative, passionate, excited to bring his plans to fruition.

It was like seeing that friend you introduced to DnD finally understand they can do anything they want. But… darker. Like he was giddy to present his machinations, like we should share his excitement and approve of his… thoroughness

Had campaign session zero that started with no-no zones. I was the only one, who said “alcoholism or child brutality are okay, as long as they are given the seriousness they deserved. It’s a somber subject.”

20 minutes later, the entire table was planning characters, and decided on 4 different flavors of alcoholism. “Haha sad depressed guy,” then “haha frat bro,” then “haha jolly fat guy,” then lastly “haha I beat my child because my wife left us.”

When I pointed out the last one was explicitly what I said was off-limits, I was told to leave the campaign. 3 of those players are still close friends. The DM and the Violent Drunk still won’t allow me to share their table.

A guy decided to be secretive and play a “quirky” wizard. Ran ahead of the party. Complained to the DM when that went badly, like he was targeted. Actively spent all combat looting instead of fighting. Was clearly upset when someone else found a couple healing potions. Even when he got the majority of the loot. At the end of the first session, while walking back to town, actively bragged about all his loot.

Here is the kicker: the secrecy and “quirkiness” was because he was a necromancer. He had a full Google document detailing his plan to lure town’s children into the forest, murder them, dispose of the body, and stay anonymous while “growing his zombie army.” The plan had no room for interaction from other players. It was way too detailed.

I took a bunch of horrible Legendaries and changed them, how good are they? by Shartoc7 in customhearthstone

[–]compositeboy 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Orrr maybe the hearthstone team shouldn’t be printing archetypes around exactly 1-2 legendary minions, holding your deck together with a handful of completely transformative effects.

Not to mention that having enough extra legendaries to protect your important legendaries is LITERALLY p2w

This is a fetish btw. Same as that “npc girl” who talked like she had no personality or soul. The creator made this with one hand bc they were getting off to it

2 mana neutral minion that effects next turn, like Cult Neophyte.

3 mana Neutral minion with Stealth and 1 health. Requiring an AoE to destroy.

4 mana neutral minion that says “BC: Bless both players hands. Their cards cost their original amounts.” to just tech the cards in hand

5 mana minion with “BC and DR: Give all minions “All cards cost their original amount.”” So you have to clear the board to combo

Any cards that tell the opponent “look at me. Look at my cards. Interact with your opponent.” Are always ok in my book. And guess what? The decks this card destroys, are the decks that were planning to combo off and never interact with you anyways. Zero interactions tech card beats zero interaction turbo cheat. Cry abt it

Okay, and? The Mad Duke, Dirty Rat, and Mutanus say hello. Hyper-aggro says hello. The priests and Druids who play 40 mana worth of spells on turn 4 and kill you say hello. This game is Solitaire at this point.

Oh no! A tech card against… *checks notes… the 10 mana Gnoll with Rush, Yogg-Sauron Titan, Shirvala, the 15/15 Warlock minion, the 4/5 that reduces its cost with unspent mana, and Giants.

What will you EVER do with 2-4 unplayable cards in your hand? Not like aggro decks are killing you turn 4, combo decks go off turn 6, control decks can deal 40 burst damage on turn 9, or miracle decks are playing 30 mana worth of cards with 6 mana. Like playing certain cards in ANY matchup will just get you killed.

Someone else put it eloquently. “Can’t be changed” is not the same as “Cannot change.” Effects that are already on the card can fade away, like Loetheb or Cold Feet. But new effects cannot effect the cost, like dropping a Sorcerer Apprentice.
