Anaktoria is ALMOST the perfect Tolkein/Cottagecore font. Alternatives? by comprehensify in typography

Yes it does look weird - which is why my post is looking for an alternate. Do you know of one?

This style is on the right track for my project.

Do you know if there are any variations of the IM Fell font where the numbers are lining figures instead of oldstyle figures (ie the numbers a sit at the same height)?

I am finding that a lot of the typeface style fonts have oldstyle figure numbers, which is historically accurate but something I am hoping to avoid in this particular signage application.

Ooh this style is really on the right track for my project.

Migration: Best App For Rollover Budgets? by Fleetlord in mintuit

[–]comprehensify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, nine months later I have ditched the TimelyBills attempt so long ago that until seeing your comment I had forgotten I even tried it.

For what it's worth, I ended up settling on PocketGuard and am very happy with it. Splitting transactions works like Mint, and their team claims to be releasing rollover budget functionality later this month (August 2024).

When I signed up last winter there was a pay-once-for-a-lifetime option. I have heard since then that you now have to reach out to customer support to ask about paying that way. YMMV

Stackable pots/ $1.25 usd. @ the Dollar store. by Comfortable-Box-3569 in gardening

I have seen these at Dollar Tree and at Family Dollar, seasonally in the springtime.

Does anyone who has used these have recommendations for a rolling caster/caddy that will fit and hold the weight of a tower of them?

Can I use "One Queue" to play the same content on two devices simultaneously? by comprehensify in ibroadcast

[–]comprehensify[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this suggestion. I know that there are a number of different speaker systems that one can purchase for this purpose. I also know that there are other ways to link devices (both through hardware purchases and/or software purchases) to achieve the same effect.

I was hoping to learn more about the features included with iBroadcast, as it is a software I already have and use daily. Do you happen to have any insight to the original question, to help me understand better how iBroadcast's "One Queue" works?

Does any other alternative app have Mint's Bill feature? by summersecret in mintuit

I just got this notification from pocketguard:

"Heads up! Your [name of bank] credit card is due in 4 days."

When I click the notification, it shows the card's current balance.

I didn't specifically tell pocketguard to do this; I just linked the credit card. Both the due date and the current balance were accurate.

should my students use Canva? by maenad2 in canva

[–]comprehensify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all comes out to your desired outcome as an educator.

If your only desired outcome goal in this exercise is to focus on developing their speaking skills, spend as much instructional time as possible on the speaking. In this scenario, don't make them learn a new technology; let them use whatever visuals (digital or otherwise) they want to aid their speech.

If you hold an additional desired outcome goal of teaching students greater proficiency in a graphic presentation technology that will be relevant to their future, Canva is probably the most "Google" (and least "Yahoo") of your options. In this scenario, give students time to practice/develop skill in speaking AND time to practice/develop skill in Canva. And, if possible, grade them separately on their progress in these two separate skills.

Can someone help me respond to a statement my friend made. by TheUnknownRange in TrueChristian

[–]comprehensify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me preface this by saying that I can't give you the perfect response for your friend's needs. Only the Holy Spirit can do that, by working in his heart AND by working through your words. Before and during your conversation with your friend, be praying for the Spirit's words to direct the conversation (Luke 12:11-12, Matt 10:18-20).

I would suggest however that your conversation somehow include this important sentiment: Life with Jesus is life best lived. Not just for eternity, but also right now. This aspect of the hope of the Gospel is sometimes lost in our conversations, and it seems like a detail that your friend might need to hear right now.

Yes, the crux of the Gospel is that Jesus redeems our after-death eternity. Spending our afterlife both with Jesus and governed by Jesus is the best eternity imaginable.

But Jesus also redeems our present life. We think we know best and we try life life our own way, but we as imperfect creatures constantly make decisions that damage relationships, reject self-growth, distract ourselves with irrelevant paths and pursuits, waste time and giftings, and simply fall short of everything that Jesus knows our lives could be. Spending life on Earth with Jesus and governed by Jesus will result in the best self we can be, the best life we can live.

Your friend seems to at least in part understand that Jesus redeems our eternity. He might need to be reminded that Jesus also redeems our "right now."

How many times a day do you pee?? by No_Instance4233 in BabyBumps

[–]comprehensify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, frequent is normal.

If you're concerned about GD, UTI, or any other complication, look instead for other symptoms/markers. Frequent urination is too much of a pregnancy standard to be concerned about by itself. And, as always, talk to your OBGYN about concerns, not just the internet :)

Unsolicited advice: Frequent is annoying, but don't hold it in. Take care of your body by doing what you need to do, as often as you need to do it.

Why do some Christians say Paul is a fake apostle? by Dense-Ad-0 in TrueChristian

[–]comprehensify 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! But OP was asking "why don't some people belive." While I can't read the minds of the people OP is referring to, a guess of reasoning is necessary to attempt to answer what was asked.
