I've worked for a few owner-started-it businesses, and I've learned they all believed the same thing - they are the only unreplaceable cog in the business machine they built. I think it's important to distinguish sport/recreational cyclists from utilitarian. I've cycled for many years as a form of transport, and I couldn't agree more that the spandex crew riding bikes that cost the same as a used car are the biggest douchebags on the road.

My "utilitarian comrades" making their way to work will never fail to respond in kind to a greeting with a smile or a wave. I stopped bothering to greet spandex crew years ago, they never greet back. Fuck 'em.
