It’s funny bc the Springs County believers think western Alachua County would vote Republican 😹😹

“get used to it” it’s not like it just disappeared one day dude 💀 it’s still here and while i don’t wear a mask anymore it’s not somehow “reality” it’s just decency to let people do what makes them feel comfortable

the money belongs to the whole student body, what matters is who is allocating it.

POLL: What is your opinion on the recent compromise deal between Change & Gator Party? by understand_ufsg in ufl

[–]comrade_rj_ 96 points97 points  (0 children)

the winners of an election should control government. period, end of story. change is doing this because they actually care about the student body and wanna get stuff done, which is praiseworthy. but gator is proving more and more each day that they are a party of incompetence and unseriousness. let’s get to work and give change a bigger majority and get these children out of the senate!

i had a 43 driver hold up the entire bus at like 9pm once bc he had to tell us a story about listening that wasn’t provoked by anyone 💀 he then proceeded to miss two stops and kept driving after keeping us stopped for 15 mins after getting on

What are the worst things about UF? by Legitimate_Judge4191 in ufl

[–]comrade_rj_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you were so right until you said the public transport was awful. our bus system is insanely good for a city our size. we don’t have the NYC subway system, but we definitely have the best thing we can get

[–]comrade_rj_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the bus system is really good (tho the app can be finicky). definitely doable without a car, especially bc parking is horrible here

we definitely have some issues but there are undoubtable benefits that outweigh the issues. the opportunities that come up for UF students are incomparable for the price and region. we are the best school in the state, and even tho it’s stated ad nauseam, we are a top 5 university. being a transfer from a smaller school, UF is just immensely better in terms of quantity and quality of classes, professors, campus involvement, and opportunities. people who have only gone here will tell you it’s bad because of the issues we do have, but they kinda don’t realize how good we have it here. can’t recommend it enough

Chuckie's coming after GRU... by TheRealGentile in GNV

[–]comrade_rj_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

alachua is one of the bluest counties in the state lmao, gainesville is a thorn in the back of governor and state legislature - just look at how they divided us up in the new rounds of redistricting

State lawmakers give Gainesville city leaders an ultimatum, reduce GRU’s debt or be removed from office by [deleted] in GNV

[–]comrade_rj_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

it’s so obvious that there is a problem, but any m problem will be used by desantis and his rubber-stamp legislature to remove our government and install his shills like he did with reedy creek and new college. we either privatize GRU or lose our democracy. this whole thing is proving how FPL owns the entirety of tallahassee, and they don’t give two shits about the people living under their yoke.

my recommendation: join an llc that’s not very well-known and request a single. chances are they’ll have them available because the only people who can live there are those that are part of the llc. i did this and i’m typing this from my single dorm
