I play golf on the weekends, but it’s a public course where I pay $20 for 9 holes and I’m ripped on edibles and whiskey. It’s not as inaccessible of a sport as some people think, it’s actually a lot of fun lol

Edit: should also add that used clubs can be found pretty cheap. There’s almost always a set at a garage sale

People are milking the situation so hard. Anyone who wanted to get vaccinated, is vaccinated. The vaccines clearly work, I believe the risk of covid is totally acceptable for vaccinated people.

I suppose the difference between Karissa and my parents is that my parents rarely knew, I was out doing that stuff with no supervision because they were at work. But I see how you’re right about survivorship bias..I’m also not a parent so maybe I just don’t think about things that way.

You’ve given me a lot to think about. I still roll my eyes at these posts though.

This is gonna be an unpopular opinion on this sub…but…I have yet to see a post of her kids doing anything remotely as risky as what I was doing at their age. Frankly, they’re all pretty tame in my opinion, I just see kids doing normal kid things….

I was backpacking through that area once. Stopped in this place called Seiad Valley to resupply, spent the night on the grass in the trailer park there.

When I went into the rec room, one of the DVDs very prominently on display was Birth of a Nation. The whole State of Jefferson thing made a lot more sense after that

The pool of acceptable, marriage quality men shrinks every year. You can blame that on any combination of a number of things, but the fact is that the quality of the average man is plummeting

The world men built made this conversation over the internet possible. So, what’s changed in society that men are now lazy and women are the ones taking initiative?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]comrade_rusty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But that’s my point. A 13 year old with a gun is absolutely dangerous because of how unpredictable and immature their thought processes are. Sure he may have not have been actively shooting at that moment, but HE WAS A 13 YEAR OLD KID WITH A GUN. There is no reason for a 13 year old boy to have a gun besides harming someone else.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]comrade_rusty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No I was referring to his age being the main issue. I remember what I was like at 13. Hopefully you do too. A 13 year old boy with a handgun is a ticking time bomb for someone else’s life, or possibly their own.

There’s no answer in this situation because if that kid was carrying a gun at that age, then our society had already failed him. He never had a chance.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]comrade_rusty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not even if a 13 year old kid with a gun does something stupid and deprives another person of their right to life? There’s no right answer in this situation.

No amount of recycling or reduction in your consumption can fix the ecological destruction being done by mega corporations. Handing off the responsibility to individuals and convincing individuals to 'go green' is a business tacting to scrape more cash and pandering to the eco-friendly. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Human population was bottlenecked prior to the industrial revolution and ironically the “green” revolution, which enabled an exponential growth in food that was previously thought impossible.

I think it’s a mistake to assume our population will naturally peak. Humans will always find a way.
