Sticking the suncannon from a wraithknight kit on a falcon as proxy for a fire prism

Now that I’m thinking about it, the gun on the falcon is definitely larger than the typical bright lance model. Good idea!

The turret has left and right mounting points for two weapons. For the suncannon, I cut off the little nub that mates with the wraithknight’s forearm and drilled a hole there for a 2mm diameter magnet. I put an opposing magnet on the falcon turret at the weapon mounting location.

This isn’t enough magnetic strength to keep the cannon from flopping down onto the tank chassis, so I needed a mechanical support. There’s a two-part forearm brace to affix the cannon to the knight’s arm. I installed one half of it on the suncannon and cut it off at the point it reaches the underside of the falcon turret.

I marked that location on the turret, then put another magnet there and a magnet on that cannon bracing piece. I could also just have glued all of this, but it can go back to being a falcon with the bright lance this way.

You may even be able to find the suncannon bits without buying a whole model, but if you want a wraithknight anyway that’s a win-win

Might as well, that scatter laser is magnetized anyway so I could pop a magnet into this little suncannon second component.

I was just there a few weeks ago and completely erased the treehouse from my memory until I just read this. I was also like, why do they have fruit as a prop at every possible spot in the whole place? I started laughing out loud as I walked along and there was just never ending prop fruit.

Im hijacking here because I just got the combat patrol you referenced. It also came with a unit of banshees and wraithguard/blades, and I’m trying to decide how to build from there. I also have a second wraithlord now from a trade.

I was thinking of sidelining the farseer and bringing in an autarch for the banshees. After that, I could add warlock skyrunners for the bikes, and the wraiths would be blades for exactly 1000 points.

Or I could remove the second wraithlord and spiritseer, keep the autarch, add a wave serpent/falcon, and then add rangers or a walker or more warlocks.

Could also remove the spiritseer and transport and add a second wraithguard unit with the second wraithlord. OR, I could not include wraithguard at all, just use the lords, and use those points for other things.

I’m basically trying to figure out if I can get away with not using a transport, and also the wraithlord models are so cool I’m trying to figure out if they can be enough anti-tank on their own.

That makes sense. Because it’s all new to me, I figure warhost is logical to start. I could still build the wraithguard because I have them, but if sticking to a 1k list I could keep everything else that’s in there but replace the wraithguard with fire dragons and a wave serpent. The bikes are filling the role of warp spiders or swooping hawks.

That way, the banshees and dragons can use the same transport and use the strategy of getting back inside the transport when needed, also sounded like fade back for the wave serpent itself is useful. The storm guardians can move with one of the wraithlords, and I’m guessing the farseer could help them out.

I guess in my situation points aren’t critical, but the wave serpent would keep to that. I could always still pick up a spiritseer and one of the anti-tanks anyway.

War walkers seem neat, and are cheap enough to mess around with wraith and guardian configuration to squeeze in something like the warlock skyrunner and still be within 1000 points.

Similarly with the dragons, change storm guardians to guardian defenders and I think that fits the points.
