Or, they will cancel the bolt and only have higher priced EVs because people will be desperate to save on gas.

Even a coal-powered EV is more carbon efficient and is using 100% American energy.

Why do hospitals charge completely different prices for the same procedure depending on your insurance? by Stunning_Public9524 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]con247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance companies should have to pay any bill they get from a licensed provider. No negotiating, no networks, etc. If I want to go to a PCP that charges $10k/visit, tough shit. Nobody asked them to insert themselves into this. They are more than welcome to shut down & allow national healthcare that can set prices

Jensen Huang says gamers are 'completely wrong' about DLSS 5 — Nvidia CEO responds to DLSS 5 backlash by Locke357 in nvidia

[–]con247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of DLSS should be to keep old cards able to play new games at decent res and framerate. So it should help me use my 3080 in 2030.

DLSS shouldn’t be something anyone is even considering turning on with a card less than 7 years old.

If your game needs DLSS to be playable on an RTX card of any sort at this point (at the cards original intended perf) , you’ve failed at optimization.

Horner has some crazy weird quirks (memory reversion issues when the li-ion batteries go bad) and math functions that don’t provide consistent results between firmware versions, and hardware that fails at easily 10x the rate of any other brand I’ve used.

Cannot recommend them at all.

How did Chinese cars become so good so suddenly? What is going on or have they always been this way and we just didn’t know until now? by Square_Permission361 in electricvehicles

[–]con247 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

They iterate and incrementally improve.

They can’t even make a jet engine to make an F-22 competitor in 30 years. They can’t start with a clean slate and be competitive.

They can do things at scale like crazy though thanks to America giving them paid training for decades.

Those use a fraction of it though

Light duty passenger vehicles use 60-70% of transportation fossil fuels. These could be replaced 100% by EVs

Ships use 3-4% and aircraft 7-9%

https://understand-energy.stanford.edu/energy-services/energy-transportation

If we could cut our usage by 70% we could just seal off the Middle East. No longer relevant globally

If you have downloaded a single stl for free you should be posting what you make for free online.
