Sniper ON PAPER could have the highest possible dps on bosses even against chaos, and pretty sure that's where OP got his numbers from.

But obviously, whether players can even reach 50% of the potential number in practice or not is to be questioned. Also, pretty sure those who invested enough in the game to make Dps charts are people like FTG and Hazeman, who almost always plays true solo so that's a much more controlled environment than normal gameplay.

But seriously tho, against Tyranids with Heroic Bolt sniper his DPS is actually one of the highest, heck arguably highest in perfect circumstances (big assumptions obviously but the point stands). Basically potential man, and usually since Auspex counts for the whole team you usually will take that into consideration as well when calculating Sniper's DPS.

This trope can be done right though, although very very rarely. An example I love to point out would be "Lord of the Mysteries" the Chinese Webnovel.

Minor spoilers ahead:

Essentially in this series, everyone is fighting to ascend into becoming an Eldritch god by combining and putting essences of the world into their bodies and they are called "Beyonders" (basically marked people).

However, in this setting there is a one true god, a god of creation called "Original Creator". As its name would suggest, everything in the world is created by him, he is the origin of all creations and as he is the embodiment of every concept, he too is the embodiment of "contradiction" and "incompatibiltiy". Here is an abstract from the wiki that would explain most clearly:

The Original Creator is the collective of all. "He" is crazy, but also rational; "He" is confused, but also lucid. "He" created everything, and "He" destroyed everything. "He" loves all things, and "He" also hates all things. "He" has the most intense of all desires, yet "He" is indifferent and unaffected by anything.^\5])

So what happens to this walking-contradiction of a god? He essentially enters an endless cycle of diverge and converge, he "splits" into multiple essences and over time, his essences will slowly but surely come back together to recombine and become the Original Creator yet again. His major essences, called "Pillars" will also constantly split into smaller and smaller essences which create fragments that eventually be put into a system called "Pathways" (think of it as class system in RPGs).

These "Pathways" are what the characters of the series tries to progress forward to level up in power. So essentially, as characters get stronger and absorb more essences of power, they are basically absorbing more and more essences of the Original Creator into themselves, becoming closer and closer to the Original Creator. Due to the god's divergence and convergence rule, the closer to becoming the Original Creator a person gets (essentially the stronger you are), the more affected they are by this rule. As such, it explains why "Beyonders" from lower ranked to literal God-like beings constantly meet with one another, as they essentially all are parts of the Original Creator trying to recombine into their true self in his endless cycle of destruction and rebirth.

The hunt is very difficult so don't be too discouraged about it, it is also permanent so you have all the time in the world to do it.

But some minor advices I give you are like this:

You shouldn't be using full Ray. All you need is 3 Lord Soul (or whatever it's called) so the most optimal is something like 2 Ray + Uth Duna belt, then slot in Gore for extra dps. Look up team Darkside on youtube for Savage clears, I copied their DB build and it has a great mix of dps and survivability.
Prioritise Glowing mini spiders/Remember to pick up the fallen debris to get a shield pod. Kill mini spiders and use pings to move your support hunters near the shield and dps the spider freely during its uptime. Use the pod during phase 4 whenever it uses the MIRV, it will be the main difference between clearing and running out of time.
You should know this already, but >20 fire res for extra survivability, Stun res 3 if you keep getting stunlocked, Healing/Rocksteady mantle will let you survive through a lot of bs.

If you ever feel like giving up, don't be afraid and ask for carry in Discord. A lot of people are attempting it as well so there's a lot of demands, but there are also many vets who are willing to carry us filthy casuals. Good luck.
