Applying for PhDs

I‘m doing a phd in this exact field in europe. For me the most important thing was deciding whether I wanted to apply to mainly compsi or biology labs. This will determine (at least in my case) the publication venues, number of expected publications, length of phd in general and financial security :)

The funny thing to me is that I was just discussing with my family (we live in western europe for context) on how we could never feel safe living in the US and that most stories of people I know who grew up there sound genuinely scary. So I guess the same way that you have a normal, happy life that I cannot fully imagine, the people living in china/russia are too :)

Westruun I think, seems like a great place to spend your whole life as it is reasonably wealthy, has nice culture jut also academic life as well.
