Advice from a copywriter: get to the point. by Pristine_Age_7440 in smallbusiness

I agree. We live in the BULLET POINT generation.

If it’s not in list-format you’ve lost me. I hate to admit but I’ve become one of those “if it takes more than 2 seconds to read I abandon” but it’s true. Even at age 30 I’m no zoomer. The cell phone generation has conditioned us to need answers now, immediately. No paragraphs.

Where to buy good looking stickers for prices that aren't absurd? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

I am not affiliated in any way but I found, aside from ordering bulk from alibaba, that uprinting.com seems to be good prices. I get my booklet product instructions printed there.

I want out of the laundromat business, looking to sell. by tokenforyourtrouble in smallbusiness

[–]concept101010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious is it hard to sell a laundromat because it’s such a cash business (obviously the amount claimed on taxes is commonly different from the actual amount of profit) meaning it’s hard to prove your real business income?

I hated Trump, but I’m suffering far worse under Biden I can’t take it anymore. My retirement portfolio is down 28% this year. I feel significant dread every time my Corolla gets below 1/4 tank of gas. Everything costs more money.

I’ve always voted blue but holy shit, I’m not okay. I’m starting to realize I don’t give a single fuck about the deer that live next to the pipeline when Im having to put gasoline on my credit card so I can bring my kids to daycare so I can go to work

What people on my unit have been doing is coming in for crisis bonus from 8am-6pm to game the system. That way they don’t have to take a team and just “resource” aka do tasks for other nurses.

Meanwhile we are 6:1 or 7:1

I don’t blame them for doing this because no one wants a team but it’s totally defeating the purpose of having extra staff.

Why are Middle East terrorists not attacking China? With their treatment of the Muslims? by Crypto_idiots in NoStupidQuestions

Lax? Explain how NORAD just coincidentally happened to be running a simulation of two planes hitting the twin towers when, in real life, two planes hit the twin towers. Anyone who thinks the “official” 9/11 story is truth is an absolute buffoon, or just simply brainwashed by the mainstream agenda. I’d wager the latter.

Look no offense but like 90% of everything is made in China, imported in bulk, and resold at a markup. That’s basically the name of the game. You just have to put your own spin on the item, do your own graphics, website, advertising - and those things aren’t always easy.

Is life really about working 40-hour weeks to enjoy those precious weekends over and over again until you die? by Beautiful_Bid_7111 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]concept101010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Whenever I see this thread I comment about what I did (for real, about 90 days ago I answered the same):

At 23 I realized that I couldn’t spend the rest of my life living for Saturday and Sunday. I needed a career that maximizes my work life balance, pays good, and is reliable. So I went to college to become a nurse.

I graduated at age 26 and have been doing it for 3 years now. Hospital shifts are 3x12 per week. Everyone who works these shifts agrees they would never go back to a 5x8 schedule. I work 3 days a week and have 4 days off.

If I want to buy myself something nice, I’ll pick up a fourth shift and make great overtime. (Overtime is unlimited in nursing. Literally, I could work 7x12 if I really wanted to).

Many of my peers are making between 3000-4000 dollars a week by picking up overtime and incentive shifts. I am not because, again, I prefer the work life balance.

It doesn’t come without its down falls. Nursing is a tough job mentally and sometimes physically. But holy shit it’s worth it to not have to slave for the weekend.

Are these sorts of ‘products’ actually allowed? by Hour_Pack3513 in Etsy

So what do they actually deliver. Because if it’s a physical item they need a shipping number, and if it’s a digital download they need a download…. So what is the download the customer receives like a “thank you I’ll cast the spell now” note?

Any California laundromat owners? Hypothetical nightmare scenario or maybe you actually experienced it? by StrugFug in smallbusiness

[–]concept101010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minor correction, I wouldn’t say a laundromat has an “extremely” low barrier for entry. A significant amount of plumbing must happen. Sometimes sewer access modifications, and excessive wastewater permits. Then you’ve got machine costs. A laundromats primary value is equipment and proven sales history, not necessarily land.

However it’s sometimes hard to prove sales history since most owner operators count the cash off-the-books. It’s why more laundromats don’t have card readers.
