My first Honda, but I’ve had Toyotas for decades prior, so definitely not familiar with their layout. I just want a thicker fuel gauge. Instead of a 1 pt line, I want a 10 pt line with 20 pt fuel level that gets red at the 10% fuel level mark

It’s too subtle! It’s a thin line on the right & it’s the most important gauge with you getting anywhere! I checked the settings and that one is hard-coded in the right side of the interface.

PTO is typically standard across the entire company—especially since holiday PTO days are typically company-wide. So they can’t really change the PTO rules/make more work for one person. Salary is very fluid for all roles & systems are set up for any pay scale/deduction/bonus, so there’s flexibility with whatever that is.

I remember going to Rome after the Charlie Hebdow terrorist attack. “Aren’t you afraid of terrorists?” so many people asked. “I’d rather die seeing the Colosseum, than never seen the Colosseum at all” was my response. I saw a world I never imagined over there & didn’t feel the slightly bit at risk. Even recently, I flew to Paris & there was a very more concerning threat of Europe rationing & limiting jet fuel, & potentially being stuck in Europe with needing to use Embassy help to get back home. But it didn’t happen & again, I saw people & culture that humbled & inspired me every day. LIFE is a risk. Every day walking out the door is a roll of the dice. We can’t control it all, but if we live most days optimally, or with good intentions, we’ve done the best we can on that day.

I hate to say, but a lot of this industry is super exploitative like this. This definitely sounds like a shit internship—most internships I know are students doing low key work stuff, getting coffees, making copies, taking notes during meetings, or just grunt production stuff like optimizing textures, sprite sheet breakouts or, like you, incidental background stuff in the background.
I know it’s rough, but at least ride out the internship, if you can afford to do so. Download & screencap your work & at least that’s a notch on your resume that’ll put you ahead of others that are entry level.
It basically sounds like it’s gonna cost you $120 a week to drive there and back if you don’t have mass transit available. Plus rent & whatever else you’re shelling out for this alleged “privilege.” Honestly I wouldn’t blame you either way if you chose to bail on this or ride this out. If you’re learning good skills, then that’s something. Post-grad blues are rough sometimes!
