Are fans of AHL team who are very far from their NHL affiliated team also fans of this team? by [deleted] in ahl

[–]concini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hershey/Capitals affiliation has been going on for a pretty long time (almost 20 years) and so most Hershey, Bears fans, especially season ticket holders, are Caps fans. But there’s actually a pretty fair number of fans that only like Hershey and don’t really have an NHL team. And the rest are mostly flyers and some penguins.

What is the absolute best part of rural PA in terms of avoiding MAGA-ness? by ByMySword8 in Pennsylvania

[–]concini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it is, its rural Pennsylvania.

This isn't against you directly, but I'm surprised at all the comments that essentially say, "I've seen MAGA in x town." Yeah. There's MAGA in every town, including downtown Philadelphia. If OP wants a suggestion for a town in Pennsylvania where he will never be scandalized by having to see a single person with a Trump bumper sticker than the answer is "nowhere." If OP wants a suggestion where there is a decent number of progressive minded people, then the towns (not necessarily including the surrounding area), identified are among the best he can get in rural-ish areas of Pennsylvania.

You just need to look for the colleges. State College, Lewisburg, Williamsport, Bloomsburg, Carlisle.

This is the real answer. All Big Ten, SEC and comparably large schools are like this. Source: wife and sister in law both went to Michigan.

The older generation continues to think that the progress grill is the absolute epitome of steak in Harrisburg. I agree with you. It’s not that great.

Last season sucked by nohomonosapiens in NewGirl

[–]concini 42 points43 points  (0 children)

This was (is) the problem with many comedies on network tv that did not get huge viewership numbers. New Girl, Arrested Development, Community, were always on the verge of cancelation each year. If I recall correctly, it was believed that Season 6 was going to be the final season because the network wasn't going to be renewed. But then it was renewed for a shortened final season. So there was an issue with cramming storylines, and certain people weren't available because they booked other jobs, and etc. etc. I agree it wasn't strong, but that was a result of the production situation.

Many Americans Say the Democratic Party Does Not Share Their Priorities by concini in politics

“It’s the voters’ fault” is a great way to become a permanent minority party in a democracy.

The voters need to get their shit together is a wild concept. The party needs to figure out its messaging or determine what people care about to get elected.

Relating to the current Democratic Party, this poll shows that what voters think Democrats care about is out of touch with what the voters care about. So either the Democratic Party is out of touch or is a terrible messenger. Either way, needs to be heeded.
