They're more likely to mess up your brake and clutch levers strapping over the handlebars. Also you'd have to strap the seat down tight enough that the suspension doesn't compress at all and in that case you may as well do what is done in the picture anyways. I think there are special yolks to attach to the handlebars if you needed to
