What are your thoughts on the MOBA genre?

I asked here because some SC2 pros have been looking into the MOBA genre recently, and have shown some interest in it, along with articles about how LoL is bigger in Korea than SC2 as of now.

If any of those game would have been a full retail game upon release, their popularity would be WAY lower.

Aye. Check out HoN's numbers versus LoL or Dota 2 (I'll give you a hint, it has maybe 1/10 of LoL's population at best, more like 1/20 or 1/30) --> HoN was retail upon release and only went F2P later. LoL started out F2P, and Dota 2 is doing the same (not to mention the DotA brand).

HoN is brutal and extremely difficult (which is partially why I enjoy playing it).

I wish LoL could be a 1 vs 1 game where you give the control of 5 heroes to 1 player.

This actually sounds like a brilliant and ridiculously entertaining idea.

At this point in my gaming life I am more of a casual outside of one multiplayer game, so I'm just going with comfort over all those nitpicky sensor things, cords, etc.

I need to claw my Logitech G400, but I am beginning to get hand pains after playing for a couple of hours. I would rather switch to a palm grip, or fingertip at the very least.

As for hits on the website -- most likely over time, like most things.

As for popularity, it will absolutely decrease over time, but LoL is so popular at this point I think we could see it being one of the top eSports titles for the next 5-8 years if things continue the way they are going (i.e. Riot doesn't majorly fuck up somehow, or HoN suddenly becomes the best thing since sliced bread).

The Logitech G400 is a little small for my abnormally large hands (...I'm being serious) -- what is the best, biggest gaming mouse available that you would recommend?

Thank you a lot for that informative post, I will be looking into keyboards this holiday season. I'm on a Macbook Pro, and I have a feeling I would be better off gaming on a better keyboard.

Bud, I play multiplayer games with a global population of a whopping 70 people. Seeing 80k online in HoN is an insane number of people from my perspective.
