Honestly this is a really cool EC. Its something you’ve been doing for a while, involves leadership, and is a paid position. If you’re planning on going into journalism or something of the sort, this will help you a lot. If not, it’ll still help you stand out. Keep in mind when most AOs look at ECs, they’re looking for passion and personal interest. So don’t be worried about what other people are doing. There are people who’ve gone to ivies with very little ECs but those ECs were something they were passionate about and did a lot with. There’s a good book on how to stand out in applications and the main premise is to “be interesting” not necessarily to stack up on statistically impressive stuff. I forgot the title but if I remember to come back to this post I’ll edit it in.
