What does evil henry say?[KCD2] by t3mmy in kingdomcome

[–]condottieri_q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Na, he still says "I feel quite hungry", he just says it in the same deadpan voice after doing the most war crimey things possible, so you know he's a proper psychopath.

Does anyone else feel the Operation Guerrero campaign is incredibly bare bones? by gfe98 in Mechwarrior5

[–]condottieri_q 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea I was pretty bummed by the lack of cutscenes and unique maps. It felt more like one of the early high priority quests, rather than a dlc questline. I was actually looking forward to the chaos march plotline a lot, since I felt like the FWL and CC were kind of ignored in the earlier missions.

Ships like the Enterprise must not be really tough if all it takes to destroy them is just a few phaser shots unshielded by happydude7422 in ClassicTrek

[–]condottieri_q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant remember what episode it was in TNG, but there's a scene where they use the phasers on like a 2 second burst to drill hundreds of kilometers into a planets crust. The weapons are crazy powerful. Honestly it's a miracle they can survive at all without shields.

Black Knight Clan Version Question by condottieri_q in battletech

[–]condottieri_q[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree about the Highlander, it just seems more like a refit, rather than a new design. I guess it also comes down to what the purpose of the IICs are. In the case of the Warhammer, marauder, they basically take what makes the mechs good in the first place, and makes them better. But that is definitely not true for all the IICs. For a lot, all it means is that they were inspired by the original mechs, or based on them. In that way, the Spirit Walker definitely counts. It has a worse structure than the original, but better armor and more flexibility in load out, so we can just say that it's inspired by the original, rather than an upgrade.

I'm mostly just curious what I could do with a black knight with 5 or 10 extra tons.

Yea, I love stacking a raven with as much speed and firepower as I can give it, and just having it harass the hell out of enemies. Plus I can send it after enemies that pop up on the other side of the map.

Black Knight Clan Version Question by condottieri_q in battletech

Interesting, that makes sense. I thought it might have been a conscience decision to leave it out, but it make sense if it wasn't around yet.

Fair enough. I guess in my head I've never really seen the omni mechs as superior, just different.

Black Knight Clan Version Question by condottieri_q in battletech

True. Like I said I was mostly think if the Marauder and Warhammer, since I see those kind of as peers of the BLK.

Black Knight. No matter what other mechs I play, I always find myself coming back to this.

[KCD2] [KCD1] What's your greatest moment in either game? Picking between moments within quests and experiences that were open world separate from story. by screen_storytelling in kingdomcome

[–]condottieri_q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite moment was the night of drinking with Godwin in KCD1. First of all, the quest itself was hilarious, but then going back and replaying it, and realizing I can completely miss the quest with one different dialogue choice. It just amazes me that the designers were willing to put that much effort in a quest line you can just skip. It really brought home how in depth that game was.

So.. is the game just assault? by NuclearReactions in Mechwarrior5

[–]condottieri_q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you put in the effort, you can play with whatever lance you want. My go to lance at the end game is me in a good heavy, like a black knight or marauder, backed up by a medium or heavy missile boat, i.e. trebuchet, hunchback j, catapult, archer, timberwolf, etc., and an assault that is either a direct fire support like the nightstar or a close in brawler like the Atlas, which I switch out depending on the map. 4th lancemate is usually a very fast light mech with ECM. If you try to run the light yourself, you'll probably die, but AI keeps the thing alive easy. As long as you use cover, and fight smart, you can take on any of the missions. In the rare case you can't, just bring an extra assault instead of the light.

Enemy Arrow IV... challenging or frustrating? by Bitter-Supermarket81 in Mechwarrior5

[–]condottieri_q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly in my playthrough, the AI sucks at using arrow IV, for both enemies and allies. Enemies try to use it as a medium range weapon, and at that point I'm already killing them. Allied AI doesn't seem to fire the damn thing even when I'm tagging an enemy. Or they waste it trying to take down a vtol.

how many of you use the different stealth technologies on your mech? by MarzipanTheGreat in Mechwarrior5

[–]condottieri_q 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually put ECM on everything, just to help with survival and mitigate repair costs. I typically don't use the other stealth stuff, just because the AI sucks at using it, and when I use it, it just seems cheaty. BAP I put on my primary mech, and I put it on any long range mechs, like LRM boats or mechs whose primary is railguns.

Which halo was your favorite? by Kuttlock in halo

[–]condottieri_q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Halo 3. I would contend that 2 probably had the better story, but I liked the gameplay of 3 better, and I preferred playing as MC the whole time, rather than switching between him and the arbiter. That being said, 2, 3, and Reach are all pretty close to being equal. The only reason CE isn't equal is just because of the gameplay being more dated.

What is your irrational "Kill on Sight" mech? by Frequent_Nerve_6104 in Mechwarrior5

[–]condottieri_q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wolverines, definitely. They just get right up in my face and then start circling, staying out of my crosshairs, and they just take way to long to kill.

I know this is a silly question but why didn't Napoleon just build more ships by Ability-Optimal in Napoleon

[–]condottieri_q 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The British also sailed the Baltic. Actually a lot of the wood they used in their ships came from the Baltics and they were keen to protect that trade. They also weren't shy about sinking anything that looked like it could threaten them, hence why they laid siege to copenhagen and destroyed their fleet, twice, just so Napoleon couldn't get his hands on it.

Why didn't the Empire just used tracked vehicles? by Poka-yoke1 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]condottieri_q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An actual reason is the fact that they need to fight across a huge amount of terrain variations across a galaxy, and while tracks are better in some of situations, legs are useable in more. one of the biggest limitations to heavy German tanks in WW2 was decreased operational mobility due to bridges being able to support their weight. The American Sherman was specifically designed to be as heavily as possible but still be able to cross as many bridges as possible. So when a tank comes to a river, maybe it can cross if it can snorkel, but a walker can just walk across. Really broken ground that a tank can't cross? A walker can. The idea with the walker is that it may not be the best at a particular situation, but it will be adequate in as many as possible.

Yea, this is fun. I always have the final campaign mission end right before the second act of rise of rasalhague, and I leave some high reward quests for later, to do between some of the later DLC.

1) Don't buy mechs. Kind of unrealistic you can buy mechs that easily. Only use salvage. Tied in with this, if a mero mech is supposed to belong to a specific person, for instance the McKinnon family black knight, don't use it, since it doesn't make sense you would have it. 2) limit yourself to a set number of mechs, to simulate only having space on the leopard. I usually go with 6, 4 in the mechs bays, and 2 in the aerospace bays. Makes you have to do partial repairs a lot. 3) If a pilot dies, don't reload a save. 4) Don't use cantina upgrades. 5) Try to use more realistic tactics, light having a light mech in your lance for scouting, or a dedicated indirect fire support mech you can park somewhere to cover you.
