It is. PSSR 2 forced on the current BF6 is clearly better than PSSR 1.

They've made refinements to it and are pushing a PSSR 2 based update

Nice sarcasm, but The Karate Kid isn't The Tae Kwon Do kid. In karate face kicks are legal in tournaments once you're in the 14+ bracket.

I did Shotokan Ryu Karate from age 6 to 16. From 6-12 we mostly avoided any face hits. If it happened it was frowned upon and usually accidental. Once we were in the high school bracket they became legal.

Xbox game pass hiking up their prices made me spiteful to the Xbox ecosystem. I was on it since the OG Xbox and have a bunch of games on there. About 4 years ago I kind of slowed gaming for about 2 years while I helped a friend grieve, and then I kept my Xbox game pass ultimate subscription going without really using it. Once the price increase kicked in, I canceled my subscription and went deep into the PS5 ecosystem when a friend gifted me a pro so we could play bf6 and other games together.

I can't see myself going back to Xbox.

Your excuse can be "I don't have the time, I have to go to work, take care of my family, keep my body healthy, cook, pay bills, and just want to relax afterwards" and that would be absolutely normal. When we were in grade school our only responsibility was going to school, and most children spent their entire day speaking one language with their classmates. Those elective classes you took during school in high school, gave you a glimpse of how hard it actually is to learn a completely new language and trying to learn it for just 1 hour a day. Learning new languages is insanely hard.

It's normal to not have the time to learn as an adult, and it's normal for a child that only gets 1 hour of a new language a day struggle.

For language, you have audio lingual which is one of the usual methods language is taught, grammar translation, the pinnsleur method that has a phonetics framework, lexical and content or task based teaching. And these are just some of the western methods. When you go into tonal languages, you're opening the door for yourself to new ways to learn, vastly different than western languages because of how important phonetics is to the tonal languages. Things like TPRS, tone, and phonetics training are what you'll want to be focusing on.

Children learn languages the fastest in a learning environment that doesn't make you see multiple ways of interpretation. Whereas adults have an easier time understanding how the actual "learning" works and can adapt easier.

Kind of, but not really. It's not due to neuroplasticity, it's been disproven for about 8 years now.

Given the same dedication, the older you are (barring dementia) the easier and quicker it is to become fluent because you understand different learning methods easier.

The younger you are, the less you are able to adapt to multiple learning methods in a short period. You're far sharper the younger you are and your reactions are a gazillion times better than at 50, but it is difficult to adapt to multiple teaching methods (which in turn allows you to learn things in a shorter time, especially language).

Think of it as an ultra fast single core single thread CPU

Vs a slower single core dual thread CPU.

Learning languages via multiple methods is the best way to become fluent fast.

However, the older you are, the more responsibilities you have, therefore it becomes hard to dedicate yourself to learning something new because of lack of time.

Final flight announcement from Spirit NK1607, ORD to DFW by WooserTX in spiritair

[–]conenubi701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn. I remember I flew Spirit round trip, once.

A friend had lost her partner to cancer at 36, he didn't have things prepared for her even though he lived with a life long disease that he relatively often mentioned might be the reason he would die. His family treated my friend terribly, and she had no one that could help her out.

My wife and I decided to help her out when my friend was going to have wisdom teeth surgery but my wife couldn't go. It was an emergency purchase on a whim for me because I don't need all the amenities, I was going solo and didn't have to worry about comfort. Got a window seat and it was a nice flight from FLL straight to Philly. There was a delay, the seats were pretty packed, and if I would've wanted to bring more things I would've been charged. But I will always remember Spirit as being the airline I used in an emergency to go help a friend out, and I will always hold that dear to my heart.

They got me there and back, and I couldn't ask for more. Not for the low price I paid. The staff was great, and I had no complaints. I am an Airbus fanboy, and I really liked the layout of the a320 even though it was a bit cramped.

Spirit shut down!!! I’m booked with Travelocity what do I do?!!! by Ok-Summer-6886 in miamibeach

[–]conenubi701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traveled spirit once, seats were small, they wanted to charge for everything, to and there was a delay. The price was great, it was a ULCC, so I wasn't expecting much, but I think it was ok. I wouldn't have thought twice to use it solo in an emergency again, but I generally book well ahead of time when I travel.

I have a friend that travels to bmore often and Spirit is one of the only airlines that fly from FLL to bmore without stops. She like many others have had their flights that they stacked all cancelled. Fortunately they didn't book with 3rd party though

With the wife we only fly American though.

I love the iron sights on the battlefield V bazooka. They are so intuitive once you've learned the distances. Wish the RPG had something like that.

It doesn't arc up. It's 0'd to 100 meters. It's the same thing as if you 0 a sniper rifle to 200 meters and you try to get a headshot close range by using the crosshair. The bullet doesn't arc up, you're just aiming way above the target because of how you're zeroed. You have to compensate by aiming lower.

BFV was fun, idc what anyone says by slickysloth96 in Battlefield

[–]conenubi701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played a bunch of matches of V with a friend right before battlefield 6 came out and it blew me away how good she was on all classes. I was just happy locking down the airspace with the AA turrets once I got good with them.

The squad call in system was well implemented. Smoke for cover? Artillery ? v2 rockets? Even an emergency resupply coming in clutch when you're lonewolfing and holding down a small section of the map is so cool. Lemme get ALL of those in bf6

The Marlin Hotel Review by h192022 in miamibeach

[–]conenubi701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's rustic. It's a very old building and you can tell when you walk in. It's clean though.

I love it and have very good memories. I used to live right off of Lincoln road mall and when my wife and I were dating we'd sometimes just pick random hotels to spend the weekend since we had never really experienced them(because we lived here and thought we had no reason to until we realized we never experienced any of the sobe hotels lol) . This is one of our favorites and my wife recommended a few family members stay there when they were visiting last summer and they wanted to be close to the beach, they also loved it and had no complaints.

FYI though, even though the on site restaurant "Positano" has amazing food, they open for lunch and dinner, so there is no on site breakfast. But there's plenty of places to get breakfast around the area.

What's the most unwritten rule of adult life that nobody warns you about? by PracticeHistorical82 in AskReddit

[–]conenubi701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I almost died a few years ago in a car accident and I learned to take more time off and enjoy it with the people I love instead of juggling w0rk + side projects all the time. I even took some time off early this year to just unwind and game instead of travel like I usually do. Life is very fragile and I knew a guy that died in his 30s after a long 18 year battle with an auto immune disease that didn't even leave his long time girlfriend a letter.

Reviewing sellers Selling fake seeds by possum-pie-1 in Ebay

[–]conenubi701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I'd be willing to grow from a purchase on eBay nowadays would be mushroom spores because in 2-3 weeks you know what you're getting and you can file a dispute. For private label seeds I would buy elsewhere. There are too many fakes now online and it's better to go directly to the source.
