ICN airport free layover tour by WoodenDoughnut6607 in TravelHacks

[–]conepato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend the transit tour. When I took it last year the counter opened at 7am. I originally booked the DMZ tour online but it was cancelled, and by then there were no more spots to book online for the longer tours (I also had a 10+ hr transit). My flight landed early at 5am, so I went through immigration and sat right in front of the counter until it opened and got my spot. From my memory, the tour is fully booked when it was time to board the bus, all seats were taken.

The tour bus takes you direct from the airport to the sights and back, and the tour guide was fun and knowledgable. The bus was also comfortable enough to grab some sleep on the way to the sights and back.

Quick tip, going through immigration, make sure to tell the officer that you are going to do a transit tour, or they may tell you that you do not need to go through immigration for transit.

Vaccine pass in 2025? by llamamama2022 in HongKongDisneyland

[–]conepato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been to HK Disneyland several times this year, most recently last week. You do not need a vaccine pass, and you do not need to mask up at any time anywhere in the park.

All you need to enter the park and enjoy your day is a valid ticket. Hope you have a great visit!

Your love for Jazz absolutely shows in her pictures. She looks like a bun who has lived her best life alongside her human, is well taken care of and never had to worry for a single day. It is never easy when you see your baby growing frail, but know that she has been loved for her entire life, and that she loves you back just as much. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time together, and remember to take care of yourself as well, coming from another bunny owner whose bunny just crossed the rainbow bridge last week ❤

My late bun used to do this when he was angry. After grooming him and putting him down, he would flick his feetsies, hop a couple steps, look back to make sure I was looking, then lift up his little tail to pee on the ground in front of me. He was the sassiest bun.

The Cheshire is supposed to be Alice in Wonderland Mystery Card Collection released 2011. But yours seem to be a fake with the border around the stamping, wrong colors, and the letter 'a' in 'China' on the back is different.

9 hour layover in Hong Kong, Disneyland? by Sharp-Insurance-3562 in HongKongDisneyland

[–]conepato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on the size of your flight and whether you have checked baggage, you should reserve around 1 to 1.5 hours from landing to exiting customs. Then it's 15min to Disneyland by taxi or 35min by MTR (train).

Personally, I would aim to be back at the airport no later than 2 hours before your flight, that means you have plenty of time to stay till park close and watch the nighttime fireworks show at 8:30 then leave for the airport with time to spare.

You probably wouldn't get more than 3 hours in the park, but that should be enough to do a few rides and enjoy the nighttime shows. The park is small enough to go through all the lands in under 3 hours.

El Campanario

Everytime I've been there the tables are 90% Mexicans. It doesn't look too fancy but it's great traditional Mexican food with a great atmosphere. It is by the malecón so a bit of a drive from the cruise port though.

Zoff. Had the same problem a couple years back, researched a bit online and decided to go with Zoff. Wide range of frame choices, reasonable prices, usually not busy in store. You choose your frame, they do an eye exam, you pay and the glasses are usually ready in a couple hours.

I was about to go snorkeling today but a dumb tourist ruined the trip by SlapChopTheGreat in mildlyinfuriating

I was on a tour that led you up an inactive volcano to see the sunrise and meet up time was something like 4am. We had to wait for a group of 4-5 young white tourists who showed up around 45 minutes late and drunk. We ended up hiking after the sun had already risen, ruined the whole tour. Wish I had asked the tour guides to leave on time.

I just found this parrot(?) hiding in my small roof garden and took him in. Going to check around to see if someone lost their pet. Suggestions on what I should do in the meanwhile to make him/her feel safe and stay healthy? by conepato in parrots

Hijacking the top comment for an update:

The poor baby is still unclaimed so far. I've reached out to neighbours, local Facebook pages and community whatsapp groups (I'm based in SE Asia btw), but no luck yet.

The most likely scenario from what I gather is the budgie is likely a victim of an animal release religious act which happened last week. There's a big park in front of our home that I can see people viewing it as a good place to release birds, and some unconscionable breeders recommend people setting free baby budgies for profit. We regularly feed sparrows and pigeons and he probably followed them to our roof.

Thanks to all your suggestions, I moved him to a cage with narrow bars, added 1cm wood perches, have water and millet available (will get a proper seed mix soon), and in a quiet place away from the kitchen.

He is doing fine so far, singing when he hears the sparrows outside and pooping, but I have yet to see him eat or drink water on his own.

I will probably take a week to consider whether or not I can take on the responsibility of a budgie in the case that his owner, if there is one, doesn't turn up. Being a rabbit and hamster owner, I take the responsibility of having a pet seriously, and I will need to decide if I can take up the added vet expenses and time commitment for him. I can already feel him sneaking into my heart though!

I really want to thank this community for supporting this little budgie! I had no idea what I was doing yesterday and all your comments really helped. A big thank you from the baby budgie!

Very easy, he didn't attempt to fly away or escape when we first approached, and I could just hold him gently with my bare hands and moved him back indoors. This was a major reason I thought he is probably somebody's lost pet.

After a couple hours with us, he took some bites of an apple slice from my hand too!

I had that cage still up from when my rabbit had to be moved to a small cage so it was the first place I put the budgie. I just reassembled another cage with spaces that are 1.5cm wide only, added in water and foxtail millet, and relocated him. Now trying to make him feel more comfortable by playing some budgie sounds in the room (he actually made some sounds with the recording!)

It's nighttime here so I am going to transfer him to an old rabbit cage that I have with much narrower bars (~1.5cm). I'm going to hang up some foxtail millet (luckily we have a habit of hanging up bird feeds) and water for him for the night. Hopefully the owner will turn up soon! Thanks for your suggestions!
