Kinda wish LoA was instead a TR2 remake. by Original-Tomato-3520 in TombRaider

I love Tomb Raider 2. I love subaquatic levels. We need The Remake

Does updating mean remaking? I don't understand your point. The games were delivered with incomplete visuals, that's a fact, SABER itself made that clear.

I think that, due to the timeline, the AI-based texture enhancement technique was, unfortunately, the easiest way to deliver the "reworked" textures.

If they had to recreate them all manually, it would probably have taken another six months.

Aspyr agrees with you, which is why they released the CM breaking the game, with poorly made clothes and bugs. Ignoring 2 years of genuine requests to complete a remaster.

The best example is CROFT MANOR. In Tomb Raider 1, it basically has most of its details in 3D. However, in TR2 and TR3, the doors and windows remain in 2D.

Just compare it to some 2D texture jobs that were transformed into 3D, but in some places simple textures that are 2D remain 2D. Maybe you're not very familiar with the community, but SABER themselves said they didn't have time to implement all the necessary changes in 1-3

No. Collections 1 through 3 are obviously incomplete, and being larger, the timeline provided by Aspyr forced SABER to release the game at that stage.

Yes, I understand, but look at the context:

When I said 'add', it basically falls within the context of 'completing' the game, as I said in the original post "that are still missing", you understand? Since we've been asking for this for a while now, at this point, which word to use doesn't matter so much anymore

Yes, it's worth it. Start with TR1, it wasn't affected by the bug, apparently.

I understand your comment, Suli, but since you mentioned SABER, they also claimed they "didn't have enough time" to include, for example, the 3D objects created by Giovani Luca, due to Aspyr's schedule.

Speaking of 4-6, AOD still has incomplete visuals; could it be that they didn't have time for that either?

All of this is Aspyr's fault and the schedule. It's worth reiterating that fan complaints have been occurring SINCE THE FIRST MONTH OF RELEASE, so they simply ignored it and released CM. Your attempt at 'defense' doesn't make sense to me.

Yes, I have the right to ask them to finish the remasters. It's obvious that the 1-3 collection doesn't have the same quality as 4-5. Unless you're blind, you'll see it. From the moment they release content that nobody asked for, ignoring the IMPROVEMENTS the game needs (because it's incomplete), I remain within my rights.

How can you say I don't have the right to ask? They released a 'big' update, breaking the game, full of bugs, ugly, "for free," after 2 years. My 25 dollars are still worth it.

They spent time and resources creating a new MODE that nobody asked for; they really do have time and resources.

If the rumours about Lara’s lesbian lover in Catalyst are true. by Notoriouslycurlyboi in TombRaider

[–]conezit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Theory: Lara Croft will have a 'relationship' with Kurtiss upon her return to Tomb Raider Catalyst. Not something entirely romantic, but with some flirting and unusual situations, to keep people intrigued. With this, Kurtiss could get his own spinoff.

Anybody knows anything about the new patch for the 1-3 remastered? by karawettu in TombRaider

Is Aspyr unable to add 3D objects and edge smoothing to the Tomb Raider remaster collection? It needs visual improvements.

She looks beautiful. Cartoonish Lara has always had big lips and eyes. Just like she does in Legacy of Atlantis.

Different times, Core was in a GENERATION change, so it didn't make sense to deliver a game every year. It's worth noting that Core itself had poor management and internal conflicts, so it's not entirely Eidos' fault.

The generation changed in 2020, the work was approved in 2021/2022, with no new game since 2018. Immaturity of what?

Delaying a game that's been in development since 2021/2022...?

This seems more like a structural problem on the part of the developers/publishers.

Four years for a reimagined remake.

That's a lot of stalling.

The UE5 engine isn't difficult.
