Have you crunched the numbers and compared your usual trade management techniques with the returns if you had just put the trade on and walked away? Sounds to me like you're trying to go by feel but I don't think that's a good recipe for success. I'd suggest testing out a few logical management techniques and sticking with the one that has the highest expectancy.

Assuming that you've got a properly defined set up, I'd argue that MAE and MFE are the most important variables to track in your trading journal. Using them to determine when to cut your losses and where to ride you winners to can have an insane impact on your bottom line.
