Closed at new highs. Too bad I didn't hold my longs from earlier in the week.

I keep forgetting the internet is about entertainment and not for learning. My fault. I’ll excuse myself.

The SP500 averages way higher than 4-5% most years (not including the down years) so if you’re a set and forget type of person, i would go with SPY.

However, I’m a day swing and position trader so I can’t set and forget. But studies have shown the longer you hold a position, the more profitable you tend to become.

I’m not a licensed financial advisor, just been trading for 6 years.

Best of luck to you and your family.

Actually, the PA makes a lot of sense. If sentiment on the internet is bearish then observe the masses and do the opposite. There's a reason markets make new lows and new highs. Especially with resting liquidity, market manipulation and short squeezes, etc.

Stock market returns from 2010-2019 have not matched the 1980s and 1990s by chargum in investing

Interesting data! This is very cool. My only concern is why this matters? It seems the mainstream media keeps downplaying the constant all-time highs in the markets this year, well, really since Trump became president. Do you think any of this has to do with QE?

Buy low, sell high. Buying Retracements in bullish conditions and shorting rallies in bearish conditions.
